I had checked the Case Status page right after 9pm EST and got the page not available msg.

Just checked it again about an hour later, and it's back on. Continues to display the case received at local office message.

You almosy never get the same answer twice with USCIS, its just too much of a national security risk for them to explain exactly whats happening with immigration.

Imagine wrong doers realize files are being trasnfered by the masses and they start sending fake/incomplete/denied files to Local offices. Green cards might end up in the wrong hands.

lol :) funniest thing I've read all day :)

I know it sounds funny. But when dealing with a million application you'd be surprised what can happen.

Imagine 10k apps arrive at local office and 1k are not legitmate or wtv the case might be, if 10 of those 1000 goes through thats already a huge danger to so many American lives.

Basically you got to protect the system, google doesnt tell anyone how their algorithm works to protect it. USCIS doesnt tell anyone how they work to protect it.

The world is a funny place, many people take it way more serious than it is. Think of yourself and then realize people at USCIS are just people like you trying to make the most and best out of their lives and they make mistakes just like you and me, so there has to be security layers because anything is possible and human error is always guaranteed

I wondered what would happen with the files, obviously if its a "glitch", they haven't sorted it out, however i thought the systems were down until midnight, three mins to go! :) Perhaps its just not a glitch after all!! :)

So your saying if a case transfer were to happen, which does happen between service centers, I could infiltrate the shipment with a fake application?  The rep would input the application even though it’s not in the database yet?  Wouldn’t it need to connect with previous visa application and biometrics?  If a rep approved an ROC without previous immigration background, that seems intentional...

No not you, I know you cant. But rogue nations with money can. And they can have people on the daily calling to catch routines.

People here dont seem to understand imagination, I said Imagine in my intial post. Im not imagining a real scenario.

The point here is, if people can call and understand the workings of the USCIS and their routines, that would spell disaster to security of the system.

For a security system to work, there has to be employees out of the loop, and there has to be different manuals on how things are done with routines changing on the regular.

If you go into your account that you use for N-400 application, you can add the case number of your I-751 in that account. It will tell you that if you don't get a notification from USCIS by 28th March,  you can make an inquiry. It is hard to say whether it is a system error or not, because not everybody got this, or maybe it is a random error.

No change to the case status though whether legit or not it breaks up the monotony of a very long wait this is something we can all agree on.
