My husband is currently out the country in Ghana, he is the American citizen petition for me.

I received the letter for my interview in 4 days, but my husband won't be back until the 28th.

What should I do and say in order to get them to reschedule? My lawyer recommends still attending
the interview alone and explaining to them the situation with hopes that they will reschedule.

He said it's coming to come down to my interview officer whether or not they will reschedule.

Does the letter state how to try to reschedule the interview?  Could your husband fly back and be there?

The letter told me how to reschedule but with a warning that it could still result in my case being denied.

We tried to fly him back but the cost is way outside of our budget since it's so soon. Even with family

pitching in to cover the fee it won't be enough.

Attend the interview. Take all information as normal. Take z copy of the airline ticket and itinerary regarding your husbands trip. Be clear and precise about your reason for attending on your own and needing to reschedule. Politely request a reschedule and then wait for the Officer to respond before saying anything more. Hopefully the only thing you will need to say after that is thank you, yes that new date and time will work for us.

Thank you so much, your answer made my day.

I'm going to see him on Tuesday, so I'll find out then. Thank you for the idea to ask him to attend with me
