Good morning everyone,

ameribrazil, can you just keep your DL till the one year expires? Then Renew it when the one year is over? Or is it better to do it now?

I don’t have a car so I am not sure.

Unenditified, 2 years! Wow that’s crazy!

I thought one year was already long 2 years is quite a stretch! Lol

😞😞😞😞😞😞😞

Received my 18 month extension letter. It's dated 8/6/18 and was delivered to my mailbox 8/13/18

Do we wait until our drivers license is nearing expiry to add the 6 months or should we go and add the 6 months to it now?

Hello!!! I've been following all the comments in here for a while now. On February 20th I sent all the information to the VSC. I live in Boston and work for the DMV in Mass and I have been asking customer coming with the I-797 how the process is going.

I received the 18 months extension letter on Monday 08/13/18.

It's taking around 17 month to get the actual card.

I got mine around the 22nd June, dated the 18th (from the CSC). But I'm still waiting on biometrics, so I'm counting myself as behind the curve.

Good evening everyone :)

so i went to France and came back using my expired green card and my 1 year extension letter with me and had no problem reentering in the US.

Starsky I have a question, It’s been exactly 6 months today since I applied for my 10 years green card, to my surprise I got a letter from Immigration today and I quite freaked out because I was scared it was a request for more evidences but it wasn’t,

its a letter extending my green card for 18 months instead of a year due to delays at the processing Center. What I don’t understand is why now send me a renewal for 6 more months when the year hasn’t gone by yet?

Its only been six months is this normal? Iam sure they won’t ask for more evidences since I have 2 children with my American husband and we have been together 8 years.

Just wondering if that happened to anyone?

Thanks

@FrenchKat I wouldn't blame you if you have, but you may have missed this update posted to the thread some pages ago where it outlines USCIS decision to issue 18 month extensions to I-751 cases. This is the reason you and others are receiving those extensions.

We suspect - based on the language used - that those of us in Califonia, mostly, who are already in possession of the regular 12-month extension, will be re-issued with an 18-month extension at some point soon. Given how long it has taken for Vermont filers to receive their's, I suppose there is a good chance that our 12 months may elapse before the 18 month arrives. I thought I had read somewhere that the 18 months is automatically granted but I could be wrong and certainly would feel more comfortable having the letter with it written clearly in front of me.

Great to see some new activity here in the thread. Hope to see more of you getting updates in the coming days!

So we filed at CSC, haven't heard anything back regarding biometrics. We've called the number to ensure nothing was lost and got the "we are processing your case" lines a couple times. Haven't gotten any updates online either. Should we call again? I always read and am advised to request a "tier 2" person, but whenever we call they kind of just push your through, take your information, etc., then end the call.

Hi everyone

I think I am the first filer in California to receive my 18 month extension letter, got it today in the post dated the 11th August!

So standby California filers the flow might just be about to start!
