Probably the single biggest reason I voted for Trump, with reservation, was immigration reform . 2nd probably being his pledge to unchain industry and productivity in this county.

If Diverse immigration is that great, why other countries (especially those 3rd world countries) are not falling over themselves to duplicate US so-called 'success' ?

How is that weird? Did your so-called 'new immigrants' people advocate for cancelling all types of US visa, so that no one can else to make to US? 

 

US immigration should still keeps the marriages-based visa, immediate family (not uncles, aunties, nephews nieces, bring the whole village over) visa.

The rest should be changed to merit-based immigration.

 

Just because US was built by immigrants (long long time ago where everyone was poor), that does not mean that current US should not have standards in selecting the people that it needs.

Things/World change, paradigm shift.

 

Those US/UK Ivy leagues colleges were once filled with students with normal results.

So should those prestigious colleges now dropped their stringent admission criteria  and accept any tom, ####### and Jerry applications?

She had an idea of ending the 14th amendment but still leaving that rule somewhat in tact. Basically anyone born in the USA with at least 1 parent as a USC should be given citizenship at birth. Just like how CRBA's are given out to children born overseas to a USC parent. It would have to start on the day the law passes and not be retroactive.

 

If neither parent is a citizen then the child would a national of the parents resprotrective country. Just like how it is done in the majority of the rest of the world.

This is the post that made me ask the question why so many immigrants after they are already here want to limit legal aspects of immigration.

Very simple. For me human beings currently under DACA protective status are more important than that dang 18 billion wall Mexico will not pay for.
Having said that border security is important but that the republicans play pawn with human beings under DACA status as a bargain chip is well simply deplorable.
We are at a 46 year low in border crossings, even Trump and his braggadocius claim to have single handedly brought this number down and has increased
BP admits it is not the problem it once was. So which is it ? An Apocalypse disaster or the lowest ever (in history of the whole entire world) ?
Research the umpteen articles easily found that point to stats of crossings are down. Wall not needed, I would as I said before go for better tech tools to help
BP agents do their job efficiently rather than running up and down a fence /  wall 24/7. Oh wait it's supposed to be a see through wall so maybe they should get better
binoculars.
I have to disappoint you that I simply do not share your priorities. Past history shows number are at the lowest in decades.
