Uh huh.  Keep believing that.  Imagine if they ALL had to pay income tax?  And when you compare the $6.9 bil that illegals pay in sales tax to the over $20 TRILLION that USC pay annually, that measly 6.9 bil pales in comparison.  Since those numbers are pretty surreal to try and grasp, let me help you out by saying it’s around 30,000 times what illegals pay in sales taxes.  So don’t try to blow smoke up our collective behinds.

Well let’s hear your solution.  Mother steals bread and gets caught.  Mother is illegal alien, and child has no home to go to.  Illegal is handed over to CPS (of course the child wouldn’t go to jail, duh).  Now what?  What do you do with the illegal mother in jail and the illegal child eating up our tax dollars via CPS/HHS?

No parent should ever suffer legal action seems the obvious solution, a birth certificate should be a get out of jail free card.

Yes, I think you said legal presence.  As in not deportable under the policy Obama bypassed Congress with in 2012.  Legal to work.  But their status is still not legal (a fine point of the law; hence why they cannot become LPRs).  You had to get an ITIN since your wife is not here legally, yet you can claim her on your taxes.  Not that you were required to; you chose to to lower your tax bill, right?

So you don’t think Bergdahl and Manning are traitors.  Got it.  You really shouldn’t be so shy about owning your beliefs.  This is a public forum, and you enjoy the same freedom of speech that we all do.  In fact, Manning was a traitor, tried and convicted, and I don’t believe any other president would have stooped so low as to commute his sentence.  My opinion of Obama was never that high, really, but what he did with Manning and Bergdahl put him in the same category as the countries Trump allegedly referred to recently.  Have you considered what motivated Obama to go against the laws of our country and commute Manning’s sentence?  Or to negotiate with terrorists and let Bergdahl go free?

That was my original point, you have to have a legal reason to be US in the order to get a SS#.

Illegal aliens aren't able to obtain them.

And yes I am required to have an ITIN or SS for insurance purposes. The messily 1.5k I'll be saving by filing jointly is nothing compared to how much BCBS Global Core and my employer will reimburse for the hospital bills we accumulated during arileidi's pregnancy.

It's also time sensitive due to the 1 year rule for life event rule.

Honestly, I don't have an opinion. That's one of the reasons why I'm not talking about it.

The other is reason is that it's simply just a deflection tactic. I question Trump's choices, so you compare them to Obama or Hillary.

Completely avoiding the fact that you failed to comment on Trump's choice.

If that was the case they could address the illegal alien issue at a later date and actually work on the budget. But both of us know that actually isn't the case.

They ARE illegal aliens. Whether or not they are worth some inconvenience is besides the point. The most urgent issue right now is a budget so that should be what this bill is about. The illegal alien issue can be addressed later instead of democrats holding our government hostage until they get their way.

Not much they can do when 60 votes are required and their are less than 60 of them. It's simple math.

The only people calling them illegal aliens are patrons of Breitbart and fox news.

Which one do you favor?

Simply wrong, I expect the Drive Bys to be clueless but this is an Immigration site. Illegals do have ssn's.

Used to be years ago anybody could just apply for a SSN btw.then they brought in the ITIN.

Easy, the correct term and most people do.

As has been pointed out already, you are wrong about illegals having SSNs.  It may be easier for folks who are legal, but illegals get them all the time.

Refresh my memory... to which comment about Trump’s choice are you referring?
