All I see is democrats putting illegal aliens ahead of the needs of this country.

they aren't illegal aliens.

And they live and work beside you and i.

So to me... They are most definitely worth the inconvience.

This is a big one.

They wanted to stay on Capitol Hill to get the job done.

How long ago was that?

Because I have to get my wife an ITIN to claim her on my taxes.

I got mine 6 years ago when here on a J1 visa. So yeah, you can get a SSN long before becoming LPR or citizen.

So those 4 republicans and all the democrats that voted against it are to blame.

No the President and the Republicans are to blame they control the White House and Congress. The responsibility is on them to govern and negotiate.

Yes..

because of your visa. So you were going to eventually have legal presense/residence within the states.

Unauthorized immagrants aren't able to get a social security number.

That would require Democrats and Republicans to work though. 😠😠😠

We can't have such a silly thing as cooperation in our government.

Agreed but the onus is on the Republicans to offer something to the other side to acquire 60 votes in the Senate. Problem is Republicans want everything done their way.

They were obstructionists for so long under Obama they forgot how to govern.

I beleive I mentioned a "legal presense"( may have said legal residence). In both cases they would still have to be legal in order to get the number.

And I understand why you asked me about him.. but my opinion on him isn't relevant.  Some people don't consider him a traitor. Same thing can be said for Manning, Some people even call the Manning a hero.

Yes, I think you said legal presence.  As in not deportable under the policy Obama bypassed Congress with in 2012.  Legal to work.  But their status is still not legal (a fine point of the law; hence why they cannot become LPRs).  You had to get an ITIN since your wife is not here legally, yet you can claim her on your taxes.  Not that you were required to; you chose to to lower your tax bill, right?

So you don’t think Bergdahl and Manning are traitors.  Got it.  You really shouldn’t be so shy about owning your beliefs.  This is a public forum, and you enjoy the same freedom of speech that we all do.  In fact, Manning was a traitor, tried and convicted, and I don’t believe any other president would have stooped so low as to commute his sentence.  My opinion of Obama was never that high, really, but what he did with Manning and Bergdahl put him in the same category as the countries Trump allegedly referred to recently.  Have you considered what motivated Obama to go against the laws of our country and commute Manning’s sentence?  Or to negotiate with terrorists and let Bergdahl go free?

So what, in your estimation, were the dems and Obama doing so right back in 2013 when the government shut down?  Or was that all the repubs fault as well?

Democrats didn't control all branches of government back in 2013.

Fake news my friend.  Happens all the time.

Quote

Q: How can payroll taxes be withheld if illegals don’t have a Social Security number?

A: Immigration law forbids working in this country without legal authorization and a Social Security Number (SSN). Yet millions of “undocumented” immigrant workers are earning income. Illegals often get jobs by using illegally obtained, forged, or invalid Social Security numbers. Employers in turn withhold payroll taxes and report the earnings to the Social Security Administration (SSA) using those numbers. When the numbers don’t match up with the numbers issued by SSA, they go into a special file called the “Earnings Suspense File.” Valid numbers issued from the U.S. government are also misused.
