Question for those who submitted the N-400 already:

What did you answer for the following section in the N-400 form:

"F. Selective Service Registration. If you are a man between 18 and 26 years of age, provide proof of your
registration with the Selective Service. If you are 26 years of age or older, provide proof that you registered with
the Selective Service when you were required to do so between 18 and 26 years of age.
If you were required to register and did not, provide a typed or printed statement explaining why you did not
register and provide a status information letter from the Selective Service. For more information about Selective
Service registration, or how to get proof that you registered, visit www.sss.gov or call 1-888-655-1825"

In my case, I am 27 years old right now but I was 24 at the time I first submitted all my paperwork to start my citizenship process back in 2016.

Thank you!

Did you register? If so, you should have received verification in the mail. I don’t know where I placed my husband’s copy but I just logged onto www.sss.gov and clicked on check/verify registration, input his info and I got an official letter of verification to print out. Hope this helps

Hi Frida_e

Thanks for your response. To be honest, I cannot recall ever registering for the Selective Serve (it's been a long process though). I read that you can register through the DMV when you apply for the driver license application and I am guessing that's what I did. I was able to find my registration receipt# and date (4/20/2016) through this link: https://www.sss.gov/Home/Verification

It shouldn't. USCIS is self funded, petition processing is not impacted by government shutdown.

My guesstimate says we should start seeing some movement for our cases in late march 2019

Yes, fingers crossed that we see some movement in a few months time. I just noticed we follow your WAC number, ours is #18097. Anyone on the forum know whether the WAC numbers are processed sequentially? Something tells me they prob don't. Each application is unique in their data and requirements, so I'm guessing its dependent on the USCIS timeline in processing the applications.

depends on how the cases were cataloged and distributed among officers. There is no sequential processing.

Hello all,

I have not been keeping track in this forum, so I am posting in December 2017 and January 2018 filers for I-751. Anyways, we filed our I-751 in either end of December 2017 or January 2018, and received a letter extending his conditional resident status for one year (until 1/30/19). Did anyone else get only a one year extension? I have been seeing a majority of people have gotten an 18month extension. His application is being processed through Vermont Service Center. He already did biometrics but we haven't heard anything else yet. Did anyone else get an additional extension after the one year extension? I submitted an inquiry online through the USCIS website, is there anything else we can do to extend his status? His job is already aware his status will expire and said they will have to terminate him if he doesn't get any new documentation. Would it be worth it to make an appointment at a field office?

March 2014: met while I was on a study abroad trip in Ecuador & kept in contact with each other after I left

August 2014: visit to Ecuador

November 12 2014: sent I-129f

Most of the January 2018 I-751 filers have received both a 12-month extension letter and a (second) 18-month extension letter.

Yes An Appointment At Your Local Office is Necessary AND WORTH IT.

SO, when your 12-month extension letter has only 30 days or less remaining, you should go inline here:

https://my.uscis.gov/en/appointment/us

and make an INFOPASS appointment. They only schedule out to two weeks forward, so it may take several tries. Once you make the appointment, your spouse should take his UNEXPIRED foreign passport, and all appropriate paperwork, including the expired greencard and soon-to-expire 12-month extension letter, and your local office will place an I-551 stamp in in his passport. This is the same as an extension letter. I-551stamps are sometimes for 6-months, sometimes 12-months, depending on the Local Office.

Hi, did he show his employer his green card before it expired? Employers are not supposed to re-verify green cards if they are used as proof of employment eligibility on the i-9 at hiring.

See question “Must I reverify an employee who presented for Form I-9 a Permanent Resident Card that expires in two years and contains conditions?”

https://www.uscis.gov/faq-page/i-9-central-section-3-updating-and-reverification-rehires#t17076n47849

See question 13

https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/140-some-questions-you-may-have-about-form-i-9

Follow the advice given and make an infopass to get a stamp in his passport, but know that they can’t just terminate him because his green card expired, if that is what he used on his I-9.
