N-400 Filers @ New York City, Queens and Long Island Field Offices

Just found this thread, very useful! I had my interview on 11/1 and was approved in the NY field office, and it looks like you already have me in the table here. It's been 16 days and I haven't heard anything about the oath, and was getting worried, but from reading this thread it seems that is normal and it could take months to get it scheduled. Oh well, patience is a virtue as they say (and who's in a rush to see Trump's welcome video anyway).

Thank you so much, and hopefully some good news for you in the coming month or sooner!

Interview is 26 Federal Plaza, 8th Floor, Room 8-100. Not sure if that's technically the NY, Queens, or Brooklyn Field Offices, or if it even matters. Based on the USCIS website, it looks like they went through another reshuffle / consolidation in the FOs, and now the three have the same exact room numbers (see link below). If I remember correctly, Queens and NY had slightly different (but also overlapping) rooms in 26 Federal Plaza. Also, I don't even remember a Brooklyn FO.

https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/field-office/field-office-state?state=NY&topic_id=1&lang=1125

My wife's interview letter also stated the 8th Floor, Room 8-100.

When she went to that room, she was checked in and redirected to another location on the 4th floor; There were other people who were sent to different location.

Room 8-100 is sometime used as a check in area, so that may or may not be the room where you will have your interview.

She is in The Bronx which is also group in with Manhattan.

Important update.

My mom had the interview on Sep 20th in Federal Plaza Manhattan and no Oath letter as of yet. I had infopass on 11/22 and the officer told me that there has been restructuring in their office.

All files from Staten island will be processed under Brooklyn USCIS office and they moved them to different floor as they are still searching for a building in Brooklyn. However all the files have been placed in boxes and there is no time frame as to when someone will get to them. They have asked for more funding from Washington for officers to work on weekends and overtime but that is not yet approved.

Bottom line is that is an officer grabs the box and your file is in it it might be few weeks, but if your file is berried in the last isle then good luck waiting for oath letter.

I hope this give you some clarity

Hi New York interview-takers,

My husband has his interview tomorrow at Federal Plaza - have been meaning to add him to this list as a late Dec 16 (so really Jan 17) filer but always manage to screw up the formatting. His details are:

Goodcombination..|03/20/14|12/27|01/10|01/11|01/31/17|10/19/17.|10/28/17.|11/30/17.|--/--/--.|New York, NY......|NBC

Quick question: At the Federal Plaza interview, can you bring cell phones into at least the waiting room? I will accompany my husband tomorrow for his interview and am wondering if we should leave our phones at home or if I can hold them in the waiting room while he interviews. Thanks!

Yes, you can bring cell phones and even laptops into the waiting room, and you are permitted to use them, with some restrictions (vibrate mode, keep calls quiet, don't use them in the actual interview). I took my cell phone into the interview and the interviewer had me just put it on the chair with my coat and papers.

When my interview was over i asked the officer if i could get the Oath letter today .

He said yes but you have to wait for 2 hours.

Thanks for the information. I didn't realize that was an option! I wonder whether I can make an appointment to go back and wait to get one - not knowing the date is interfering with my travel plans.
