Went to biometrics appointment today, which was at 11 AM in Atlanta (East side). I went in at 10h20, stood in line to get a form to fill in, and then stood in line to get a ticket and get my hands checked (they wanted to see if it would work), and then had to sit down until my number was called (20 minutes) to have my picture taken, put down an electronic signature, and get my fingerprints done.

Went smoothly, and it was a very clean and roomy office.

I was out before 11 AM. So mine took a bit longer, but it did not feel very long.

I guess it's now waiting without having to do anything anymore.

My husband did his biometrics on Monday and he did digital fingerprints. I think most sites have the digital fingerprinting technology now, but perhaps there are still some out there using ink.

Just wanna share with you guys my story in case someone has the same situation.

I didn't get any NOA mail nor Biometrics mail from USCIS. I started calling 25th of Sept to follow up and resend my mails but up to this day I have nothing.

Yesterday I called again worried that I'd miss my biometrics. To my surprise it was yesterday 10am and I was actually talking to an immigration officer tier 2 on the phone that exact time. I was so upset that i missed it.

I couldn't sleep last night so I decided to go to the nearest USCIS Application service center (York, PA) and came in at 9am (It was empty). Went to the security and explained my case, he then passed the printed email letter notification to an officer (the only proof I could show them of my case number) and then the officer printed my biometrics letter from her computer and passed it to me. They took my picture, signature and finger print right on the spot without a question. Took me around 15mins.

Just an advise, if you didn't get any mails from them. KEEP CALLING USCIS.

I can finally breathe now! Good luck to everyone!

@Valex that's strange that you never received any of the paper documents in the mail. When you spoke with USCIS did you verify that they have your correct address? I would make sure that everything is correct so that this doesn't happen again when they send out the AP/EAD combo card!

I'm glad the biometrics walk in worked out for you, that must have been stressful! :)

Was very stressful :/

That's the next thing I need to settle. The biometrics letter has the right address by the way. I also talked to USCIS tier 2 officer over the phone confirming my address and it's correct. I need to contact USPS about this. I do receive other letters like from my bank but not the USCIS mails which is very strange. Until now I haven't figured it out. There will be more mails coming so I need to fix this soonest.

Do you guys have any idea what went wrong? I live in apartment, asked the neighbors if they got my mail they said they didnt get it. USCIS has the right address. So my only doubt is USPS. I have registered my name under this address too to USPS and only the USCIS mail wasn't received.

I have heard some stories like that. Is the name of the beneficiary on the mailbox? I've read that they will not deliver USCIS mail if they don't see the name linked to the mailbox. On my end, when I called USPS how to do it they told me to just put my name there alongside my husband, nothing to do in the system as I don't need a change of address. Haven't had any issues and I got all my mails.

Good Luck!

Sad thing tho, I have already done that since I moved here in May. That's why I'm just lost and confused right now.

My husband received 2 texts late last week for NOA1, but he only got 2, not 3.  I never received any email NOAs either, I probably should have used his email as well instead of my Canadian one from university.  When I use the USCIS website to look up the numbers given in the texts, it says the numbers dont exist.  Will wait until this week and hopefully will get the notices in the mail/ will call at that point if something is wrong.

That's strange, have they cashed out your check?

I will have to ask my husband if he can check.  I'm not sure if he is able to, as he doesn't have personal cheques, so we used a money order through his bank (which I think takes from his account right away).  I'm sure the bank can figure it out though if we really need them to.  I'm going to wait a week to sound the alarms and hopefully I'll be able to figure things out once I get mail.  And if I don't get mail I will take your advice and start calling USCIS.

However it seems the officer processing my case was not into accepting this. So I'm going to look for a certified translator and hope that's what they want. Quite sad.

Sorry for the RFE, but everything is so fast for you! Had you not received the RFE, you would have been approved in a month?!?! :jest:

Good luck with the translation!
