I don't get it with a CR1, you are a resident upon entry. Why would you file for EAD?

It's not CR1 I'm Adjusting through marriage.. I wanna start working until I get green card it might take a year.. in the mean time I could work in 3month time.

Your profile says IR1/CR1 and that's what you stated above. What visa did you enter on?

Then you are adjusting from B2 - it would be good if you updated your profile so ppl can give you the right information. As a B2 adjuster you will always have an interview.

all this time I thought if it's through marriage it's called cr1 or Ir1.. thanks will do that

Well, that was confusing to read, lol. 

Adjusting from a visitors visa most of the time requires an interview unlike K-1 visa holders. I'd prepare to be called in for an interview, and gather necessary documents - just in case.  Adjusting can take up to a year. EAD can take 3-4 months to receive generally.

That is the Consular Visa classification for spouses that apply as spouses from their home country. They are LPR's from the time of entry.

 

Some info: The Green Card category you will have on the card is CR6 (spouse of USC that did not enter on immigrant intent visa but adjusted in country) - a K1 will have the Green card code CF1 and a spouse who entered on a immigrant visa CR1 or IR1 depending on if they were married for more than two years or not. For them the visa category has the same name as the Green Card code since they get immediate GC upon entry. (C is for conditional).

Thanks.. I just edited my profile..  my previous informations were for the i-130 petition which I'm already approved. I've changed it now... I'm sure there will be no confusion now🤗😊 thanks for the info.

Oh you'd be surprised Lol, because thats what i thought about our case too. I mean, i knew we will have an interview (everyone does who arrived on J1, B2 and so on), but i was sure we will be approved instantly. We had all that but a child, really we have a bunch of stuff, lived together for a while before the marriage and so on, but check my signature, over 2 years now  I am adjusting just like you but from J1, sooo, you never know  

Best of luck though  : ) But i would advise not to put any timeframes when it involves uscis.
My work permit (EAD) took about 5 months for the first time, second time 3 months, and now im waiting for my 3rd one for almost three months.

Yes you'll definitely have an interview 99.9% for sure. You wanna respond quickly to your RFE as it'll pause processing of your petitions until requirements are met and satisfied. As for EAD's they're normally valid for 1 year for those adjusting status. The AOS process normally takes between 4 to 6 months but could be longer than that depending on how backlogged your local USCIS field office is. There's a nationwide backlog now with all petitions so prepare for a long wait time before interview. Mine was in 2014 and took 7 months.

I wonder, why AOS from K1 takes 10-12 months ? What are   they doing for so long with the application?
