Is it okay to let the immigration know we met on eharmony

Items 53 and 54 ask about your in-person meetings. There's no need to mention about how you got to know each other initially. At K-1 interview, when asked by a consular officer, the foreign fiancé/e can mention e-Harmony.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

I put exactly how we met initially and in person. You'll want to include the terms of service since eharmony is a dating site. It could fall under IMBRA, so include the TOS just to be safe.

Never lye to immigration.

That say just write write how you guys met in person for the first time.

They do not want a long story as some people sometimes think just straight and short like one line can do it.

They WILL ask how you met. And some embassies appear to try to maneuver the information around to make you seem like you did something wrong. I'm talking from experience. I think lots of countries still don't accept the fact that online dating is a huge way to meet nowadays, especially in the US, but some countries are living 100 years in the past.

It all depends. I didn't get asked that question so it really depends on the package people sent in and also the interview and so on.

But yes they should be prepared to be asked that question.

My wife and I met on Eharmony in May of 2015.  We stated that fact and listed Eharmony in our papers . When the CO asked how we met, she said "Online".  It caused zero problems in getting her CR-1 visa.

Congratulations.....another Eharmony success!!

Always be honest. More and more people are meeting through dating websites these days so it's really not anything "suspicious" or uncommon like it may have been in the past. My husband and I met on eHarmony almost 5 years ago, AND he was deployed at the time and then stationed overseas, so our in-person time together prior to our actual marriage was very little (we got married on the 2-year anniversary of the day we were matched and at that time we had spent something like a cumulative total of 4 months together in person), and we still had no problems. When you apply for the K-1 just be sure to submit an abundance of everything. I gave them copies of our Facebook and Skype conversations, photocopies of the very personal handwritten letters we wrote back and forth to one another, and essentially forfeited the privacy of our relationship in favor of USCIS seeing that it was authentic. When I went for my interview the question of how we met came up again and I was totally upfront about it. The only thing the officer had to say was, "Yeah, that seems to be the way that people are meeting these days. Glad it worked out for you guys!"

Exactly thats why you shouldn't say they will because not all places but as said it really depends on the embassy and the people of course.
