Thanks! I was approved.

Interview in Montreal was fairly straight forward. Lots of waiting around (about 3 hours) but interview itself was just 3 questions:

1) What will you be doing in your new job?

2) When was the last time you were in the US?

3) Why are you applying from Canada?

Interview took 5mins then was approved.

Also had to a sign a piece of paper saying that my Green Card was tied to my job offer and if my job offer was withdrawn, then I could not continue with my application.

They asked for my, and my spouses Canadian visa so do make sure you have that if you go to an interview in a country where you are not a citizen. They don't list this on most of the checklists so you need to make sure you have this. They didn't ask me for anything else that wasn't on the checklist.

Congratulations finally i'm so happy for you

EB-1 ! How exciting!  I'm sure everything will  go very smoothly from now on.

You know how I said I expected everything to drag on well into next year? Guess I'm wrong! Just had the official NVC email telling me they're scheduling an interview.

Quote

NVC schedules appointments one month in advance.  The U.S. Embassy tells us what dates they are holding interviews, and NVC fills these appointments as they become documentarily qualified.  Most appointments are set within three months of NVC’s receipt of all requested documentation.  However, before applicants in a numerically limited (preference) visa category can receive an appointment, their priority date must also be current.  This can delay receipt of an appointment.  You can track your priority date using the Visa Bulletin on travel.state.gov.

EB-1's are apparently always current ... GULP!

Big congrats, Enigma!!  Great to hear everything went well for you!  Have an easy POE and a great new start here :)

After all this waiting - now we know that Canada embassies are pretty busy, which is not at all surprising!

Does anyone know if AOS is needed for EB3 visa?

This is what my attorney said - "Financial documents"/ AOS does not apply to you because your application is employment-based.

All we need is the notarized offer letter (which will be sent by the agency once I get the interview dates) .

Hope this helps.

I received  email that NVC completed its processing (SD was 11/10, CC: 24/11) but today I recevied another email that one document is missing or need additional information. the text in the email  is below

The instructions will ask you to either:

  •  Send the missing or corrected items to the applicant so he or she can take them to the visa interview;

or

  • Send the missing or corrected items to the National Visa Center (NVC) and include a copy of the

Case Number Barcode Cover Sheet.

what does it mean? does it mean delay in my interview or  they will schedule and I need to provide it during my interview?

Thanks

Sounds confusing to me. I would do both. Scan and send what they want to the NVC and I would also take the document to the interview.

It might trigger a question of WHY, but the approved TPS should speak in favor, if asked at all. Showing otherwise a good moral character and that civil and financial records are ok, should be more important.
