Law enforcement officials arrested a man Thursday who allegedly made threatening comments toward Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake's staff that referenced the shooting of House Majority Whip Steve Scalise.

The Pima County Sheriff's office confirmed that Mark Prichard, 59, was arrested on Thursday at Flake's Tucson office.

According to an aide to Flake, Prichard told a staffer:

"You know how liberals are going to solve the Republican problem? ... They are going to get better aim. That last guy tried, but he needed better aim. We will get better aim."

The statement was an apparent reference to the June 14 shooting at a Republican congressional baseball practice in Alexandria, Va., where Scalise, R-La., and four others were shot by gunman James T. Hodgkinson, who was fatally shot by Capitol Police.

Flake, R-Ariz., was on the baseball field that day.

The hate and violence filled rhetoric from the deranged left is spiraling out of control. Liberals , open minded and tolerant unless you disagree with them.

Yep, Liberals can't take the low road and expect to win. Republicans have way too much experience at lowering the bar for that to work. Someone needs to take the high road.

Yes because shooting a politician, threatening other politicians and assaulting protesters who disagree with your view is taking the high road.

Apparently offending the left is equivalent to threats (against Trump supporters, Republicans, Trump himself, etc.), assaulting protesters, and so on.

Anyways, who's surprised this occurs? Normal people have a filter that prevents them from acting out on political inanity, but increasingly, the left disregard those filters. Desperate times for the poor fellas. :pop: That's what happens when you can't handle losing an election.

Yeah it's terrible but don't pretend this is something on one side of the aisle

Very sad circumstances, a remarkable woman. It is difficult to understand the American preoccupations with weapons domestically.

It's not difficult. Living in multiple countries should give a big clue..

When Americans commit crimes, even crimes considered non-violent, it often tends to accompany violence in general. For example, burglary. In Canada, people tend to just steal things and go away. In the US, the likelihood of committing violent acts upon someone when breaking into their place is significantly higher.

Thus, the need for self defense is that much greater. At very minimum, I'd be very thankful the US has a second amendment. Many countries with similar levels of violence don't even have that right to defend themselves with lethal force without someone already putting a gun to their head.

You say its not difficult, but why the act of Terrorism against Gabrielle Giffords?

It's like striking the match and lighting the fuse on a bomb. Unstable humans placed in the right environment conducive to such acts are capable of some pretty despicable things. US environment has been far more hospitable to political extremism. It's just getting support post-2016 from the MSM, celebrities, etc., something which wasn't the case in 2008.

Thank you Sarah Palin. Speaking of deranged idiots...

Even the NYTimes itself debunked this myth years ago and reiterated it recently.  This is one of the reasons Sarah Palin's lawsuit against the Times may actually have merit.
