No.  Nothing is being eliminated yet.  They are looking to reduce by 2027

Those worried about pending cases already filed/near its completion stage:

Even if this bill DID pass (which is unlikely given Democrats have to vote on it as well and they are usually pro-immigration)...

The chances of it affecting cases already in progress would be slim to none...one reason maybe being because of the massive amount of refunds the government would be forced to dole out in application fees.  I don't think even the government could legally keep people's money if cases were forced to be closed automatically, as opposed to rejected for viable reasons.

"oh, we have to follow this new policy all of a sudden, that never applied to you before, so you're rejected automatically with no refund" probably wouldn't fly as a viable reason.

Yes and no.  While the actual changes might not take place, it is very obvious that the work related visas have taken a huge priority over family based petitions.  The HBs are getting approved at a record rate while K/CR are pushing towards historic highs in process time.  It used to be 3 to 5 months from NOA1 to NOA2 and now it is pushing closer to 6 to 9 months.  If NVC goes the same way a K-1 can end up being a full year process.

Hopefully they are far enough along in the process that it won't matter.  It is a long uphill battle to get this approved but as written it would impact green card applications too.

Seeing the news that they are considering something that will very likely not pass?

Just relax, this bill isn't going to touch your case.

I doubt if you will have any issues.  It certainly helps if you are rich and fluent in English... LOL

I hope that everything goes smoothly and quickly for you and your husband.

Does anyone have any information about how the proposed bill to limit immigration would affect the petitions which are waiting for priority date to become current?

This is the proposed bill that trump administration is supporting: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2017/08/02/trump-gop-senators-to-introduce-bill-to-slash-legal-immigration-levels/?utm_term=.917f10b5c399

But I cannot find any information how it would affect family petitions which are waiting to be current? I already paid the fee to petition for my siblings so I don't see how they can just cancel us without returning the application fee. If you have any links please share...
