hello. i am a resident but my husband is not. he is legally here. my 8 year old daughter is in honduras. we want to bring her but i don't make enough money. can my husband sponsor her? please help. we had a case but it was closed because we didn't have a sponsor. thank you so very very much for your help

Where would your husband be getting the money from if he's here illegally? If it's savings then these are also yours as you are married.

But he does not have legal authorization to work in the US, and the employer should not have hired him.

Employers always find ways to hire them, even if they are illegal/undocumented. Some use ITIN numbers or false SSN. This is a topic that does not make any sense for people who go through legal channels, but a reality for many people in this country.

Yes, she can be your joint sponsor. You (as the petitioner) are, by default, the main sponsor, but she can fill in another I-864 to be your joint sponsor and make up the remainder of the income requirement.

In the US, the different federal agencies don't share or run registers with each other so illegals can work and pay taxes without anyone ever finding out that they're illegals. Hopefully Trump introduces a law that requires all employers to run e-verify on all new hires to ensure they're authorized to work in the US. 

 

OP, as others have stated, a financial sponsor must be a USC or LPR. You're friend can sponsor you but must the financial threshold for her household size.

I wasn't gonna say anything but since OP brought it up....OP, you're the one that sound crazy. Just because he has a tax ID and doesn't lie about his money doesn't make it right or legal. What's ridiculous is that your husband is working in the US illegally and taking a job from USCs and LPRs and you think that's ok. You do understand that there a millions of illegals in the US working and taking jobs from USCs and LPRs, and you think that's right?
