  1. Hi everyone. I thought I would create a thread fo all of us who have petitions pending in China during this outbreak to share information. The embassy was closed last week due to the Chinese extension of spring festival holiday, and now the embassies have suspending visa services due to the US government’s limited staffing at the embassies and due to the president’s proclamation banning entry of foreigners who have been in China in the past 14 days. For myself, my fiancé visa petition was scheduled to be shipped to Guangzhou embassy last week and it didn’t ship, the next scheduled shipment is supposed to be next week on the 18th. At this point I don’t even think that’s going to happen. NVC says that they will of course extended the validity period of petitions they couldn’t be processed by the Embassies in China due to the outbreak, but that doesn’t worry me as much as trying to figure out when my loved one is gonna be able to get here. Anyone else out there in similar circumstances?
  2. Hi all, Has anyone else filed a 129f for a K3 in Nebraska this month ?
  3. Background information: I am married to a Filipina since 2011 and we have been living here in the Philippines together since 2006. She was previously married and that marriage was annulled in 2011. My wife has 3 children from her first marriage. Upon annulment, her children were considered illegitimate under Philippine law. In 2016, we jointly filed a petition to legally adopt (and legitimize) her children. In March 2020, this adoption was finalized with a date of effectivity from Oct 2016. We have a small business here in the Philippines. I am 53 years of age. For many reasons, we have decided to emigrate to the United States. My youngest child turns 17 in October and I want to make sure she acquires her US citizenship before she turns 18. I plan on returning to the US in June to establish our small business there, in Denver, CO. I would love input as what is the fastest way to get my wife and 16 year old daughter to the US with me. There seems to be many paths, but it's very confusing what is the best and fastest way. Hoping to hear from you. Thanks!
  4. Hi All, Please Help! So after submitting I-130 on Feb 11th 2020 with IOE*** number and Nebraska service center I submitted I-129F after 10 days. I recieved EAC*** i.e Vermont service center for my K3 application. I read most people saying usually you get the same service center for both I130 and I129F(k3). I have 2 questions 1) why mine got two differnt service centers? 2) I don't see any processing timelines or any info for Vermont proccessing K3 Visa. Please help if you have any info on this. Thanks in advance
  5. Hi All! My husband Vincent and I got married in 2016 in Accra after a denied K1. I've done A LOT of traveling back and forth to Ghana over the past couple of years, and we're now trying to get pregnant, so it's past time that we begin our "VisaJourney" again--this time with a spousal visa petition. The K1 was denied because they believed our relationship wasn't bona fide. In my last petition, I sent in the bare minimum of what was needed, and then worked really hard on making sure Vincent was ready for the interview with the photos, chats, etc. That obviously didn't work for whatever reason, so this time I'm wanting to front-load and see if that helps any. I have a flimsy 3-ring notebook that is organized into 5 sections: 1. Essentials--cover letter, money order, G-1145, and I-130 2. Petitioner/Beneficiary Documents--copy of my passport, two passport photos of me, I-130A, passport photos for Vincent, marriage certificate 3. Whatsapp Chats--I plan on picking 3 conversations from each month, for as far as I can go back 4. Photos--I have about 200 photos of before we were married, our marriage ceremony, and us traveling around Ghana with both mine and his family 5. Witness Statements--Notarized statements from my sister and 4 friends here in the US that have either met Vincent in person, or have at least talked to him on the phone Does this look okay? Anything else you think I should add, like financial documents? We don't own any property together and our finances aren't really mingled like they would be if we actually lived together. Should I add in my personal income stuff to the front-load? I make the 125% above the poverty level required and I read on VJ that NVC will send a letter to me requesting this info, but not sure if I should go ahead and add it in since, well, it's Ghana... Thanks for all the posts and everyone's help! This forum was great in the past and can't wait to be involved again! --Ali
  6. Hello, I just have one question regard my case in applying for a Green Card through marriage on the K3. I am currently in the U.S. working on an O1. I am about to apply for my Green Card through Marriage. I want to see if I can switch employment during the wait time for my Green Card once I file it, do I need to file I765 for that to be possible , to enable me to work untied to my current employer? My current O1 has 2 more years of validity on it with my current employment. I read on the i765 form not to file the i765 if you are on an O1 however im wondering if this will enable to me work separate to my O1? Do I need to maintain my current status working on my O1?
  7. I’m new to this so here is my situation if anyone can help... We got married in Mexico back in May 2018. We moved to Michigan in November 2018 (I went with my tourist visa and a B2 permit issued in October 2018) I lived with my husband and then my B2 permit was going to expire in October 2019 so I went back to Mexico at the end of September and returned the permit. We filed I-130 in November 2019 and they got our money in December and we got a number which we registered at USCIS. No more news since then, we keep waiting and missing each other. My questions are: Can I visit my husband with my tourist visa while my I-130 is pending? If yes then, Do I need to book an international flight? ( I live near the border so I could take a domestic flight and deal with the border consulate by land to obtain my permit) If I can do a domestic flight: should I book the flight and ask for the permit or ask for the permit and then book the flight? It will be a round-trip flight for as long as I can stay with him... I’m thinking about contacting a lawyer for all this questions but I don’t want to spend money if anyone can help me here... thank you for reading this and I hope that you can help me...
  8. I applied for a K1 visa for my fiance (Sept 2018) and at the interview ( July 2019) they wanted some correction to be made on the AOS which we did same day. He was also told he had been approved and kept his passport but sent an email 1wk later saying the AOS was received after the expiration of the NOA2 so they can't extend the NOA2. The email said it would be sent back to USCIS with an intent to revoke. I've called USCIS , NVC and Lagos consulate and no one has the paperwork yet. So I went ahead and got married and now in the process of filing for him again . However one of the questions on the 130 form states " Have you EVER previously filed a petition for this beneficiary or any other alien?." and also asks what the outcome is. What do I do?
  9. I thought I would start a group for individuals who had filed I130 then in July 2019, file the I129f for K3. This pertains to Nebraska only as the I129f May not be appropriate for other SCs. Please add your info to this page.
  10. Hello everyone! Noobs here! Bangkok US CIS just emailed us last week our Packet 3 so that we can start the IV. I want to move to Texas by mid-November. What would YOU do? - I completely move from Asia (been here 19 years) to Houston leaving Thai wife behind. She applies now for IV. She comes to US once IV is complete. - We both fly to Texas now (me move, she vacation) and after Christmas she flies back to Bangkok and applies for IV. - Other options I'm in a rush to sell our business here (we might close this Monday), fly to Texas to help care for parents (80s), and look for new job. Thanks all! Rob
  11. Hi friends! I’m just wondering if anyone here has experience with their partner moving to the US before their k3 is approved? My spouse is in finland and I am in the US. We are tired of being apart and I’m wondering how there are so many people living in the US while waiting on their visa. Any advice is appreciated!
  12. Hello, so my wife submitted I-129F (K3) to Dallas Lockbox (received at Dallas PO Box on Sep 30) and she attached the G-1145 form to receive any email/sms notification, but we haven't recevied anything yet, do you know when should we expect to receive either email or sms notification? Thank you
  13. Hi everyone I'm new here I'll try to keep it as short as I it could be. I've been living in Costa Rica since 2000 I'm American Citizen,I have 2 daughters which the youngest is from my actual couple. We've been together for almost 6 years,he is the provider to our home,he is Costarrican,he didn't get the tourist Visa despite he had all the paperwork (hacienda, car title, house mortgage paperwork, etc) How can we do all the process to move to U.S,being him the only one who works and provides for our home? What could be the fastest way to proceed? Thanks if someone knows which way to go... We've been together for almost 6 years without marrying because we thought it was (in some way) better for the process...
  14. Hello, I became a US citizen about a month ago. I still have my original Ukrainian citizenship as well. It takes about a year and a half to renounce a Ukrainian citizenship. I am getting married to my Ukrainian fiancé in about a month. Everything is paid for, so rescheduling the wedding is not an option. Our problem is that the Ukrainian government will not allow me to use my US passport to get a marriage certificate, but only my Ukrainian passport do to the fact that I am still a citizen of Ukraine. My question is: Will a marriage certificate, that states that my wife is married to me as a Ukrainian citizen, be accepted when filing for a K-3 visa? What are my options? Thanks
