  1. Hi everyone I'm new here I'll try to keep it as short as I it could be. I've been living in Costa Rica since 2000 I'm American Citizen,I have 2 daughters which the youngest is from my actual couple. We've been together for almost 6 years,he is the provider to our home,he is Costarrican,he didn't get the tourist Visa despite he had all the paperwork (hacienda, car title, house mortgage paperwork, etc) How can we do all the process to move to U.S,being him the only one who works and provides for our home? What could be the fastest way to proceed? Thanks if someone knows which way to go... We've been together for almost 6 years without marrying because we thought it was (in some way) better for the process...
  2. I thought I would start a group for individuals who had filed I130 then in July 2019, file the I129f for K3. This pertains to Nebraska only as the I129f May not be appropriate for other SCs. Please add your info to this page.
  3. Hello, I became a US citizen about a month ago. I still have my original Ukrainian citizenship as well. It takes about a year and a half to renounce a Ukrainian citizenship. I am getting married to my Ukrainian fiancé in about a month. Everything is paid for, so rescheduling the wedding is not an option. Our problem is that the Ukrainian government will not allow me to use my US passport to get a marriage certificate, but only my Ukrainian passport do to the fact that I am still a citizen of Ukraine. My question is: Will a marriage certificate, that states that my wife is married to me as a Ukrainian citizen, be accepted when filing for a K-3 visa? What are my options? Thanks

  5. Hi All! My husband Vincent and I got married in 2016 in Accra after a denied K1. I've done A LOT of traveling back and forth to Ghana over the past couple of years, and we're now trying to get pregnant, so it's past time that we begin our "VisaJourney" again--this time with a spousal visa petition. The K1 was denied because they believed our relationship wasn't bona fide. In my last petition, I sent in the bare minimum of what was needed, and then worked really hard on making sure Vincent was ready for the interview with the photos, chats, etc. That obviously didn't work for whatever reason, so this time I'm wanting to front-load and see if that helps any. I have a flimsy 3-ring notebook that is organized into 5 sections: 1. Essentials--cover letter, money order, G-1145, and I-130 2. Petitioner/Beneficiary Documents--copy of my passport, two passport photos of me, I-130A, passport photos for Vincent, marriage certificate 3. Whatsapp Chats--I plan on picking 3 conversations from each month, for as far as I can go back 4. Photos--I have about 200 photos of before we were married, our marriage ceremony, and us traveling around Ghana with both mine and his family 5. Witness Statements--Notarized statements from my sister and 4 friends here in the US that have either met Vincent in person, or have at least talked to him on the phone Does this look okay? Anything else you think I should add, like financial documents? We don't own any property together and our finances aren't really mingled like they would be if we actually lived together. Should I add in my personal income stuff to the front-load? I make the 125% above the poverty level required and I read on VJ that NVC will send a letter to me requesting this info, but not sure if I should go ahead and add it in since, well, it's Ghana... Thanks for all the posts and everyone's help! This forum was great in the past and can't wait to be involved again! --Ali

  7. Hi all, I’m gathering police certificates from 4 different countries I lived in. I have my Colombian one however I’d like to know if I need a Certificado de Movimientos Migratorios? i was in the states for 4 years however left after 3 months after I turned 18 Years old (meaning I don’t have a ban or anything). My lawyer can’t give me a straight answer assisting me instead she replied with this : “I recommend getting an FBI search from the U.S. for the criminal check. The government has not, in the past, requested a police clearance for those in the US for over 6 months, but policies are changing rapidly. In case they ask at the interview, I recommend getting a US check as well” i Have two questions : 1) For those of you who obtained a Colombian PC and lived in the states unlawfully would I need to get one as well even if I left 3 months after I turned 18 ? 2) What do you think regarding my Lawyers email? She keeps confusing me and not answering my questions ...Thank you!
  8. Hi everybody, First of all, I would like to say I am really happy to have found this Forum I would like to have your advice about the best way to go to the USA to live in there. I am French and I live with a French-American Woman in Paris, France. We both work in Paris and plan to go and live in the United States, Florida to be more precise. We are not married for the moment but we will be in 3 months (November 2018). More information about our situation: - My wife-to-be doesn't have a residence, as she lives in Paris, France - My wife lived in the USA from 1 year old to approx. 10 years old but never worked there - Even if she never worked there and never had to pay taxes, she submitted her tax returns - My wife's current employer is an American company. She will have a position in the US before leaving France - She has family in the US: - American cousins who live and work in the US - her brother, who he's American and French and has been working in Florida since 1 year - her mother, who he's French & married to an American since +10 years and has a Green Card. She has incomes (buying & reselling real estate after renovating it + French pension) In your opinion, what's our best option for me to live and work in the USA in order to follow my wife-to-be? I am considering 3 VISA but I'm not sure: - K1 => If I well understood, this VISA is only suitable for a foreign fiancé. As we plan to be married in 3 months, I think we can't apply for this VISA. Do you agree? Do you think we can try it before getting married? - K3 => As I understood, this VISA is kind of obsolete or, at least, I should chose the IR1/CR1 instead. - IR1 or CR1 => I think it's the most suitable VISA for my situation but my wife-to-be must have a residence in the US and submit the Affidavit of Support. As she never worked in the US for the moment, she can't complete this document. What do you think? Thank you all very much for any kind of advice! Angie & Jeremy
  9. Hi all, I am new to this so bear with me. I am a US Citizen and my fiance is a Cuban citizen. We planned on marrying in Cuba so that I could then submit the i130 petition because I was under the impression that that is the "quickest" process (and better chances of approval). However it seems to me that due to the new Trump administration things have changed and things are getting harder and more confusing. I see many people have gone the i129 Fiance Visa route but I am not sure if this is because the process is "quicker" or better. Does anyone have any suggestions on which process is best? Thank you
  10. Hi. Just wondered if anyone has booked their interview for soon after their medical. I’ve booked mine a week later and I’m hoping that will be okay and I won’t be turned away.
  11. What happens in the stage of a Medical examination? What would they do to you, test you on? What happens if you don’t have all vaccines? US Bogota Embassy
  12. My wife's visa expires in two days. I sent the paperwork and it was delivered last friday via UPS tracking. I do understand that when the paperwork is being processed she is legal. My concern is does the check have to be cashed by then or just received? This scenario just played out in my mind that she might be illegal if they haven't processed my check by the time her visa expires and I may have to send her home so she doesn't violate any laws. Couldn't find anything concrete on these specifics and decided to seek an answer from the residential experts here. Thank you in advance.
  13. So i have submitted a i-130 for my spouse in india, and i am estimating roughly 15 months before she gets her visa. I know a lot of people say that attempting to get K3 visa is a waste of time and money.. but the I-130 process has really slowed down especially with the Nebraska service center. so i was wondering with estimated time of 15 months if K3 would still be waste.. i know i would have to file for adjustment of status once my spouse is here, but really i just care about the time it takes for my spouse to be with me in the USA. Thanks for the help and your opinions.
  14. I was approved on 4/9/2018. Priority date: 9/1/2017. So happy, good luck to all !🤗🤗😚
  15. Ok so my Fiancé and I are trying to figure out what exactly to do I like the cr-1 visa she thinks we should do the k-1.she is worried about me supporting us and her being unable to drive or go anywhere without a drivers license. What are things we can do? I think if she came out on the 90 day visits it would work out great, but she is worried I’d rather spend the time apart married than not married any advice would be appreciated just trying to get the process rolling regardless
  16. Hello. I will be sponsoring my husband on I -130 spouse visa to the USA. I need to know financial requirements for my bank; as in length of time I have owned the account, and does it matter which currency, and which country my account is located? In addition, we will soon be purchasing a home in the USA as a cash transaction of approximately $40,000 USD. We are hoping to combine the bank balance and the house market value to meet income requirements as well as a future part time job for my self. Household size is 2 people. Please advise.

  18. Hi everyone , I wasn't completely sure where to post this, but I'm wondering if there exists a FB group of people who came to US on K-type visas? Or basically any kind of group of people who moved to US and it's about supporting each other in the means of assimilating into culture. A place where you can ask how to get somewhere, where to buy something (I don't know certain food from your country or items from your part of the world or just in general where to get something), how to get around, how to set up certain things (bank account, work stuff)...basically a group who supports each other with basic life things here in US. I love Visa journey but it's not as interactive and I spend much more time on FB than on my gmail and here. So if anyone know of any groups please post a link. Thank you
