Isn't there a lot of Europe that is East of Israel?  I always hate these geographical labels we use, East vs West, Occidental vs Oriental.  They all seem to stem from Europe and their perception.  As the Wizard of Oz told us, the only good directions are North and South!

I guess if you look at footy, it does make me confused. If we take UEFA, they have Kazakhstan, Armenia, Georgia, etc.

 

It doesn't make sense to me because these countries are clearly in Asia. The whole reason Russia is considered Europe is because of their exclave that includes Kaliningrad, so that one's obvious. The others.. meh.

You mean like most of Russia? lol There's also parts of Georgia and Turkey(although not the European side) and even a small part of Cyprus.

I completely agree with you. There are some people however that lack such knowledge, and erroneously believe that is a new thing, that it's purely religious, and aimed exclusively at the west.
