Hi All! Can anyone help me with this question. My beneficiary is Italian but he lives in the U.K., so when asked which consulate he would like to have his interview we put Edinburgh because that is nearest to him.  I read a few places that it is okay for him to choose a consulate that is not his home country but is closest to where he currently lives. Can anyone confirm what I am thinking is correct?

If they have legal status residing in another country, they could go to that country's embassy to have their interview. It would not be the "closest" to where he lives, but the one that deals with immigrant visas in that country.

https://uk.usembassy.gov/embassy-consulates/edinburgh/visas/ if you read the link, you'll know that he has to go to London if he's in the U.K. With a valid status that would grant him going there for his interview

If you're addressing it (not needed), it should be the lockbox's address and not the embassy.

Another question about form i-129f Item Numbers 37. - 38.h. Form I-94 Arrival-Departure Record.................

My fiance is Italian and came here on an esta for a week visit....so does he put "yes" that he came? He does not have a 1-94 history.

Here is what the guidelines say but i am not sure what to write...

"Select the box to indicate whether your beneficiary has ever been in the United States. Provide the date of your beneficiary’s most recent entry in the United States, hisor her I-94 Arrival-Departure Record Number, if available, and his or her immigration status at the time of arrival (for
example, student, tourist, temporary worker, without inspection). Provide the expiration date and identification numbers
on the I-94 or I-95 Arrival-Departure Records, travel documents, and or passports. See the What Evidence Should You
Submit section of these Instructions for additional information."

Within 2 months of just knowing each other you have filed an I-129F? Am I reading this right?

Be sure to start collecting a lot of information for proof of ongoing  relationship the US Embassy will likely want to see that.

I previously was involved with someone there who I only knew for a few months and it did not end well.

Be careful and take your time.

Maybe by make it official he meant as asking her to marry him.

My case has been active for 18 days now. I'm not expecting NOA2 until at least mid September. If earlier, I'll be happy.

Any ideas if the projection timelines for NOA2 include delays if you get RFE's?

average time for NOA2 is currently 105 days for CSC🙂
