If they are in your country and security services do nothing then someone needs to start answering questions, it's unacceptable.

 

If there is a ban or restriction of movement, better screening then you have a chance to stop them before they enter the US. Why would anyone not want an extra layer of security?

I think if there is going to be a reinstated travel ban it needs to be more nuanced - no bans on LPRs and consider banning nations that have proved links to funding terrorism (gulf states). 

Also countries who provide material support like trading oil and allowing fighters to transit across the shared border with otherwise landlocked ISIS-controlled areas. 

 

Countries like oil-short and oil-importing Turkey. 

 

Unless someone believes that any of ISIS's other (oil-rich, oil-exporting) neighbors actually needed that oil that ISIS was trucking to their Sunni "brothers" (who only fire shots at the US-allied but vastly more tolerant Kurds) across the Turkish border.

There comes a point when the comedy of errors becomes negligence that they need to answer for. 

The bad guys can be reported tons of times and nothing is done.

They can assault or threaten people and be reported nothing is done (btw in reverse: the assaults and threatening behavior towards immigrants and those of other religions rarely gets tackled properly either in the UK).

They can literally say ''I am a terrorist'' (the Italian guy did that!) and nothing is done.

 

Whelp. There's nothing else left is there? Somebody call Frank Drebin, he'd probably do better.

It was already nuanced.. it's the media and leftists who embellished it to Muslim ban, despite 7 of over 50+ countries apparently being a Muslim ban. I'd prefer the country ban to be more aggressive toward every country that has a multitude of people contributing to terrorism anywhere else in the world.

That would probably include like all of Europe as well as MENA since pretty much every country in Europe has active terror cells at this point. 

 

Not say I disagree with the rule applying equally to any country that harbors terrorism, just saying it would be A LOT of countries. 

 

EDIT: The part I didn't think was nuanced is banning LPRs who already have established homes/careres in the US and who, in many cases, have been here for years. Seemed like a huge oversight to me.

This was indeed a series of missed opportunities. It makes the need for better intelligence analysis inside borders, where activity is taking place.  The irony in all this, is that the narrative of ignorance we've seen since 9/11 act as blinders - if you don't look Muslim, then you're not a terrorist. That might explain why nothing was done as a consequence of the "I am a terrorist" claim.

I think the no bans for LPRs thing was already on the last one. BTW in regards to what I mentioned before with selling to Turkey, after the Marmara incident when there was tension between the countries for quite a while(which has not completely subsided yet) the Turkish government officially wasn't letting companies trade with Israeli companies. However it was pretty much a joke because beneath the surface there was still plenty of business going on, and they knew about it, but not only turned a blind eye but pretty much allowed it. The only difference was, we had to take any indication of where it came from off. So there were no labels; We used white stickers on paperwork and photocopied it to cover the name, stuff like that. When you work in a place like that you realize really quickly how this world works behind the scenes, and how different it is from what is portrayed. Enemies pretend to be friends; Friends pretend to be enemies. I can't name them, but I know for a fact there were several countries Israel has no diplomatic relations with whatsoever that we sold to(just without the name on it of course) through a third party. Some of them knew where it was coming from and knowingly hid it, and some just had no idea the cameras they just bought from Germany actually came from Israel lol.

Wow that's crazy. Just goes to show that there is so much more going on under the surface than the general public is allowed to know about.
