How soon can my spouse apply for work?

She is getting her Visa in the mail in Philippines next week. We are in Philippines right now and will leave together after 2 or 3 weeks from now to USA. I was just wondering how soon can my wife apply for work in USA. I know i can apply now already since i have my ssn and etc. 

(Also we filed the Spouse Visa (DCF) through Manila, Philippines.)

So she has a spousal visa? Once she has her green card she can work.

Do you know how long thatl take? Is the GreenCard shipped to your US mailing address  or is that given at the airport?

With a spouse visa (since that seems to be what you are getting), as soon as she enters the US she will have a green card and can begin working. When she enters they will stamp a temporary version in her passport, then the actual physical green card should arrive about a month or so later.

 

If this is wrong and you are actually doing a K-1 visa (fiance visa) then you will have to file for AOS after getting married and you'll have to file for EAD/AP at the same time. In that case it will take about 3-4 months for the EAD/AP so that she can start working while waiting for the greed card (it takes about 1 year to go through the full AOS and get the green card).

If she has an immigrant visa she will have a green card upon arrival.  She would then need an ssn to be paid.

We filed the Spouse Visa through DCF. So basically she can work after getting the temporary greencard stamp in her passport at the airport

Yes, as stated by NikLR, she will also need to go in person and apply for an SSN but she can do that with the temporary I-551 (green card) stamp that they will put in her passport. That should be pretty quick, so I doubt she would be able to find a job and be ready to start faster than you can get all of that done.

How long does it take to get the SSN after we get the temporary green card stamp at airport.

It usually takes 2-3 weeks. Of course in some cases it may be longer than this, but that's the general estimated time for the SSN.

When you arrive on a spousal visa, you have the option of ticking a box to automatically apply for a SSN and have it sent to you, so no need to go in person to apply. The SSN usually arrive within a couple of weeks.

I checked the box and had to apply in person 3 weeks later.  My ssn arrived 1 week after.  This sort of thing happens quite a bit.

Don't assume the SSN will come after a spouse visa. We waited a month before going to the office, and when we went in their response was "Oh she isn't entered in the system by CBP, we will have to contact them". We now have to wait another 4 weeks+ before we can ask for an update.
