Even if she has a job the fact that she is already seeking immigrant visa means she is willing to give up the job soon anyway. Its not easy but time will pass just be patient and make sure you get all the documents ready on time.

It took +/- 6 months in 2016 and 2015 also. The time for K1 has been around 6 - 9 months for a while now. Possibly not going to speed up in the future.

You can take some time to review the guidelines to get more of an idea of the process. It will help better prepare yourself.

I filed. We have noa1... june will be 3 months how much longer??????

i visited april 26 - May 1... i have no more vacations left. Is there a way she can apply? for B1/B2 visa? while we wait????????????????????????????????????

It would be a waste of money to file for the B1/B2 visa because she will get declined. B1/B2 visas you have to prove that you have strong ties to your country which would show that she has intent to return back home. That would be hard to prove with a k1 visa in the system when the k1 visa's purpose is to allow her to marry you in the US with the intention to stay.

Unfortunately, it's a wait game. If you can, try to go see her while you wait but if not, build up some patience. It may seem like it will be a long process but truthfully it's not. Try saving up as much money as you can and she should start doing the same because this journey while rewarding, will be very expensive. Help her finalize and prepare to come live here in the US because it WILL be different. I talk to my fiance about this all the time and even suggested that he talk to his friends that have migrated here so that they can explain what he needs to prepare.

I'm going to send my packet off in 1-2 weeks. But I'm going to see my fiance next week and MAYBE one more visit before I go back to be with him on his interview but either way, I will be standing side by side with him at the interview.

Good luck on your journey!!!

ROC Filing:

4/21/2021 - Sent ROC Package via FedEx

4/22/2021 - FedEx package delivered and signed

5/11/2021 - Check cashed

5/14/2021 - Received NOA1 via mail (NOA1 date: 5/8/2021)

6/9/2021 -  Biometrics waived - Case updated to Fingerprints taken

If you filed in March you're halfway there. June is right around the corner. And after you yet your NOA2, things start to pick up the next steps are on your fiance to get done so she can schedule her interview.

The best thing to do is wait. If you'll gonna file another visa it might get conflict and you'll still have to wait and might took longer than k1 so you'll just gonna waste money. Every case is different. Some got approve in less than 3 months, mine got approve in 4 months back in 2014. You can check my K1 visa timeline for preference if you want 😊. Just be patient. Goodluck!

I had an appointment at the U.S embassy for the K1 visa but postponed and applied for  B1/B2 visa cause of my job and got the visa with not problem but the consular told me to not use the visitor visa in a wrong way. I went there for work and met my Fiance for two weeks while I was trained .

After 4 month I schedule my K1 visa, they approved. I was really not lucky cause when I traveled to the U.S  we did not get married cause of family emergency in my home country so I had to leave the U.S before the 90 days. After two month again I went back to the U.S on my B1/B2 visa "The old one still was valid"  and never broke the rule so we did not get married.

Now I am not with my fiance and have no visa to visit. We re applied for one more K1 visa. I really wish things were different and could be with my fiance now. It is all about how you can show the Officer that you are not breaking the rules I guess.

That's not very long so far. I'd suggest calming down and getting patience, because you have a long way to go.

We've all been through it, just talk every day and support each other!

Also, I'd suggest creating a timeline it helps other members and it helps when you ask questions, so we know when exactly you filed and everything.

Your NOA2 did, but you definitely waited longer for the rest considering you had the sputum test.

She can apply for a visitors visa, but will most likely get denied.  She is already considered a beneficiary on a K1 Visa, so that shows intent to immigrate.  Remember, the main thing about this K1 process is PATIENCE, PATIENCE, PATIENCE!  YOU HAVE TO BE PATIENT.  My fiancee has her interview on May 24th.  I applied on October 14th.  I would probably have this process done by now if it wasn't for a lost RFE.  You have to remember this is a long, government process.  It takes time.  You just have to sit tight and wait like the rest of us.
