155 days today :(

Don't get too sad with RFE we finally got approved at 170. The early range lately seems to be 140 days for those lucky few. But more typical has been closer to 160 if no RFE is issued. So you might still get it this week. Just feel sorry for the poor couple from February who still haven't heard a thing and are way out past 200 days now I believe.

Average wait time for a RFE is approx. 14-30 days.

You're only on day 7 which is way too early to call them. Just be patient - I know that's hard to do but considering you got a RFE is a good thing because everything else in your petition has already been reviewed in cleared.

Thank you for your message.

Why do you say « don’t get too sad with RFE? » I don’t have one!

This whole process is so tough... I really hope I get something this week...

Apology punctuation error, I meant in the case of my fiance and I with the RFE we finally got approval at 170 days. We got an RFE at day 147.

Hopefully in your case there isn't an RFE and they just will get you the NOA2 in the next week or so.

are these RFE's usually due to not enough evidence of the relationship?

Or what can these be about?

You cannot and should not base the steps of your case with everyone else's. Yes, some can take a week and others can and have taken longer. If you have a receipt that they received your RFE response then that's should be reassurance enough that you will get a response back because your case has gone through the necessary background checks and has cleared with flying colors so you're pretty much done with the first step of this process.

I believe if you updated your timeline with the date of your RFE the VJ stie gives you an estimated timeframe of response - but again, remember the keyword is estimated.

Just be lucky to have received an RFE because that means your case was touched and reviewed and it also means that they will get back to it sooner than others that haven't even been touched. Many are still waiting just to find out if their case has even been blinked at let alone touched. (myself included)

Added note: I just looked at your timeline and your estimated timeframe for response has been updated. If you haven't heard anything back by that timeframe then I would suggest calling.

RFE is for any problems with the paperwork. In our case we sent in her court papers for the divorce and forgot to send the divorce certificate. There was one person who forgot to check a box on their 129F application. So really anything at all. If you send in passport stamps and don't send in the bio page you will often get an RFE.

It is really just saying there is something they need that is missing from the packet.

My apologies for misunderstanding. So, I will say this....

If you received an email/text called Tier 1 or USCIS case tracker update on 9/27 (which was a Wednesday), that means that the hardcopy is probably not gonna be mailed until about today; no later than Friday, and that is simply because your notification was electronic based on when that adjudicator put the update in the system. Considering that they don't work on the weekends and mail does not run on Sunday, it probably hasn't been sent for mailing until today.

Have you reviewed your entire packet that you sent to see what they might be sending you an RFE for? Has every question been answered and boxes checked as appropriate? What type of proof of meeting or quantity of such did you guys send off? Did you guys meet on a dating site or internet and if so, did you print of the websites' TOS? Most people can determine what they think their RFE is for before it comes but these are the typical reasons for a RFE.

Most likely, if your petition was completed correctly and in it's entirety then it will most likely be about additional proof of meeting/ongoing relationship.

It is ok :)

I have no idea what it could be. We know each other since 4 years and we see each other each weekend... Maybe some signature missing or the back of his Naturalization certificate... We'll see...Will let you know. I make him call them tomorrow to check when they actually sent it! Thanks
