Berkeley Cancels Ann Coulter Speech Over Safety Fears

This is Berkeley, if the minds going there can handle the presence of a few poorly constructed arguments then they are not as critical thinkers as we need them to be and this country.  This is part of the University Tradition, you leave your parents house and you get exposed to a vast variety of ideals and you learn to sort it out..  Lets trust these kids to figure this out on their own, not a steady diet of coulter, milo et al but more than just mainstream thinkers.

i'm not saying anyone can't handle poorly constructed 'arguments', or that kids can't 'figure' out coulter.. i'm saying there has to be better out there to offer up. too bad gg allin is dead, he might be making the speaking tour rounds offering up 'alternative arguments'.

anyway, there's the internet now and any college campus/parents that think their kids are getting exposed to new 'ideals' via 'the grande college experience' needs to get up to speed. those who wish to hear coulter speak aren't there for her groundbreaking 'ideas' but because they're 'coulter fans'.

The problem is the troublemakers' on both ends of the spectrum. Not the "MDL," or "MDR." Coulter is a morons moron, and most would go to laugh at her, or hero worship. Unfortunately there are small elements that would escalate her visit for sharing her inane thoughts to violence.

I'm pretty sure she was going to speak for more than 3 seconds and had alot more to say than that. Just because there are some things one says that are not worth listening to doesn't mean there aren't more things that are. Also, while not Berkley, we did see even people like Ahamadinajad get to speak. Surely, if he gets the mic she can as well?

actually, ahamadinajad is a good example of a controversial figure who has more than book sales to bring to the table. and i honestly don't care about coulter speaking, i just think shes bottom of the barrel, with nothing of substance to offer. so long as those who wish to protest her speech can do so, i'm good. just sayin, if i'm paying thousands of dollars to attend a college and all my school can pull in for 'thinking outside the box' or 'new ideas' is anne coulter/milo..i'd be better served going to a live aftershow taping of teen mom OG.

She said that group and the university were actively working together to help mitigate issues and work toward a safe speech. Supposedly the university asked her to come to help provide their students a chance to listen to the other side. But as we all know Berkeley is uber Liberal and does not want to hear anything that does not conform to their way of thinking. 

 

People will show up to see her, let's just hope the neo-nazis and alt-rights don't try to spoil the event again. They may need to get a second installment of reality.

She will fare well at UC Berkeley, despite her message, because she will engage in the discussion, and she is aware she needs to be on top of her game, not to get lost in the critical thinking merry go round. Ann is a tough man.

Seems they have had a change of heart and decided to let her speak.

So you'd rather pay thousands of dollars to listen to Ahmadinajad than Coulter....hmmm ok. Did you read that link? Quite the stuff to "bring to the table". Coulter's got nothin' on him where being a whackadoodle is concerned.
