I am sure there is 5ish% threshold in all tax/poverty guidelines.  I doubt +/- $200 would make a difference.

That's reassuring on one hand, but a little worrying on the other, as I have no idea what the RFE would be for otherwise. Hopefully it's nothing too stressful to sort out.

It does make a difference. On the other side, is such a minimal amount that's it is easy to show assets/savings to cover the difference and/or a part time job to show higher income.

This is true. My wife has a 401k or whatever it's called (pension savings) and various assets. I'm kicking myself a little for not having included them to begin with, but stupidly I didn't realise her earnings were marginally below the threshold until after I'd sent the package.

I did some research but am still a little cloudy on whether a request for initial evidence (which is what I received, NOT a request for FURTHER evidence) will put my EAD and AP on hold, pending the status of my AOS. Praying it doesn't put a hold on things as we're planning to return to the UK late August for one of my closest friend's wedding. *gulp*

You can easily expedite your AP for your wedding abroad... EAD? Honestly no one seems to know how they process it, how long it takes, the effect of the RFE/RFIE on it (It doesn't make sense to assume a RFIE after 60 days would reset it to day 0 again), so really just don't stress on it.

You can put in for an expedite as soon as you've completed your biometrics. And i was informed I could not do an SR for expedite until 5 days after it was last touched (so I put in 4 requests within the space of 1 month). As of today, my EAD is being produced as a result of my expedite request and I mailed my packet in May 11.

I faxed in my EAD docs 10 days ago, today my status just changed to "your request to have your case expedited, referral number T1E1521704230MSC, was assigned to an officer for response.". How long did it take  for yours to change from case assigned to card being produced?

Here's how mine worked:

On 6/12, I put in SR to expedite. A few hours later, it said the request was assigned to an officer. A while after that it said a response was sent to me then changed to my request was completed. I got an email requesting evidence of why I needed the expedite. I faxed those over. The next day (6/13) my status TWICE changed to my expedite being assigned to an officer, a response was sent to me, and the was completed. Then it said my case was suspended while they requested the file. The next day (6/14)  it said a response was sent to me and it was completed. I called USCIS and they said my expedite was approved so has been sent to an officer to either accept or deny my application. On 6/15, my status changed to "new card being produced"

so it took 3-4 days for it be approved.

Is this something I can do via the USCIS website, or do I have to call a specific number/department?

I believe it's better to call them, say you want to expedite your AP because of your wedding *mention date*, then they may ask for evidence so be prepared to send wedding invitation with dates, flight tickets, or whatsoever you have

Hello Everyone!

Good to see that there is some progress happening four us April filers!:D No updates for me since my biometric appointment...patiently waiting!

Quick question... how do you count how many days your case has been active? Do you count from the priority date and include weekends? Just trying to get a sense of when my 75th and 90th day will be to track the progress of the ead card....

I think the "base date," if you will, is the "Received Date" shown on NOA1. And yes, I think the weekends are counted, too. I am basing my answer on VJ timelines, i.e. "Your [insert application type] was approved in X days." The X is based on the "Filed Date," which, in my understanding, should be the "Received Date" on NOA1 and not the date the application package was mailed.

Again, these are just my presumptions, and I do hope that someone can give a more comcrete answer to your query.

Good luck to us April filers!

PS: I am using an app and it auto-calculates the "days active." If you are an iPhone user, please see the attachment for details of the said app. You may want to download it from App Store. I am not sure though if it is also available on Android phones.

Got an RFE for my AOS via the app this morning. Joy!

I expect it's related to the poverty guideline, as my wife's income fell $146 below it, or thereabouts. Seems harsh if that is the case, but rules are rules, I guess.

I had the same issue as you. My husband is self employed, our taxes are above the poverty guideline $5000 dollars but it seems that when you are self employed you have to tax much more. Now I'm sending an additional sponsor.

2017/04/19 - Mailed I-130 / I-485 / I-765 (FedEx)

2017/04/20 - Packet Arrived in Chicago
