Whew! i thought i did something wrong while filling out DS-260. I was kicked out in between because there was no activity for about 20 mins (was looking for some address) and when i tried to log in i got the error. Been like 3 hrs now and still cant log in.

I paid the IV fee yesterday, but does it need to show "PAID" in order for me to fill out the ds260 (whenever it is possible to log in) ... although I think I would wait til Sunday or Monday anyway, because of their maintenance work on Saturday

Ugh so I call nvc and ask if it was ok that I send my documents before filling out my ds260 and the rep said yes my document review is independent and not base on my ds260 whichever date they get scan that's when I start counting not when I submit my ds260 . .....oh the confusion😩

It's which doc they receive last that's when they start counting.

Does the welcome letter come via the email that you provided to USCIS, or do they mail it out to your physical address?

It comes via both. But email is the quickest.

I've seen a few people have sent their AOS documents before submitting the DS260.

I guess this is OK to do, as long as you include the sheet with the barcode?

Yes it is okay to do. But NVC would consider your packet for review only after you have filled in your DS260.

The NVC is so frustrating. We emailed all the documents to them (electronic processing). Sent IV in one email, AOS in another and the next day and additional police clearance. They have now sent a checklist for the IV documents. They obviously haven't seen the first email with them all and just looked at the email with police clearance. I'm trying to remain calm since they won't be open for a couple more hours. I think I'm beyond annoyed. Deep breaths!!!

Ok, so I've been doing some research and perhaps this is a false checklist. Has anyone else had this happen? They've literally asked for every IV document. As if we'd forget to email all of them. Lol!!

I get it now I submit my documents via mail and my scan date was 4/27/17 but when I submit my ds260 it will be the last document so it will restart my scan date 😉

Most likely the case. I've not had this happen, but I've seen posts about others getting false checklists. Calling still wouldn't hurt.
