Hi all I'm new to this thread!  I too filed in April 2017 and  I've been patiently waiting ever since I mailed the I130 off to the Chicago lock box on March 27th.   To give you guys hope, here's my timeline:

Mar 27 - mailed application to Chicago lock box

Apr 3 - application received/transferred to Potomac

May 3 - I received an email from USCIS that my NOA1 was returned to USCIS....undeliverable by post office

June 30 - Infopass appointment at local office to find out why I haven't received my NOA1 as of yet.   Agent looked up my case and saw that the status was pending (if your status is still pending that's a good sign).  She also said that they are currently doing background checks on my spouse.   This was a sigh of relief for me!   Shouldn't be too long now before approval  since Potomac has a record of fast approvals.

Good luck April filers!

I know there are few that get lucky and gets approved every once in a blue moon , but ..

I am Nebraska  and PD is April 3rd,    and as it seems .. lol Nebraska is still working on November files ...................

edit

Can you make your case timeline please ? if you want, as it'll help VJ members check case updates and appx approvals time frame

I have applied for my parents green card. I have filed i130 since they both are out of the country. My mom's case is updated in the USCIS website saying that the case was received on April 12, 2017. My father's case is not updated yet. Any idea or suggestions about the possible reasons/solutions?

Thanks.

Do you have separate receipt numbers for them? I filed for my spouse & my receipt number comes up as invalid when I try to check case status. I was told that not all numbers are entered into the online system...and in order for me to get updates, I have to call them.

Hello

what documents do i need for NVC other than the ones you fill out on there website?

For example, you will need a copy of the beneficiaries birth certificate & English translation if needed, a copy of police record from their country & any other country they lived in for more than 6 months, with English translation. You can search this site for NVC checklists & packets & see what else people are sending. It's a long list, but we started getting what I listed above & had them translated.

Aw, I don't even know if we're gonna do a visit, we don't want to miss anything! I was hoping for a family event on September 20 but looks less likely and I'm trying to be realistic and hope for Thanksgiving.

Wow is right Pink_waters.  I've been requesting a duplicate copy of the NOA1 ever since May 3rd (since the post office said it was undeliverable).  I'm still hopeful.   We will get through this!
