Yeah I know that trust me I have spoken with a number of them that frequent my area. But the thing with the homelessness in my city of Los Angeles is that they openly allow tent cities and would rather allow it so that they can spend the money on Illegals.

i don't understand..you don't want them to allow tent cities? how are they spending money on illegals instead of homeless? from what i've seen most cities spend money on homelessness in the form of arresting more of them and housing them in jail.

I have already reiterated that point earlier in this thread how a number of "Sanctuary cities" are liberal bastions that would rather spend the money needed on Illegals rather than combating homelessness.

I think you have a very valid point there, but we (as in all of us) should demand of the federal government an action plan to take care of our homeless vets. It's a shame, unacceptable, and obscene, that we can't take proper care of our vets. They should not be living under these conditions. And this is something that transcends party lines, because no administration wants to touch it with a 10ft pole.

agreed, this country is disgusting in its treatment of vets. other than homelessness; addiction issues, lack of access to drugs/treatments that could genuinely help them, and of course the '20 vets lost to suicide' per day..living in a tent city is not a good thing either, but i'd rather live in a tent city than jail.

not to mention empty homes outnumber homeless like 5 to 1 or something crazy..

I'm pretty sure if Dems and Reps weren't busy using this issue as a catalyst for polarization and just enforcing the fricken law there'd be a lot more focus on making the VA useful and other matters. But instead, here we are..

The homeless problem is often attributed in conjunction with the immigration issues and I completely disagree.  I think that we ourselves as a society have created a sub society of untouchables that are fine to help at arms length, but when it comes to actually doing something and acting on it it doesn't happen as much as it should.  We have laws in pinellas county Florida requiring licenses to feed/house/assist the homeless.

Yeah, I don't understand the places that won't allow people to give the homeless food or other donations. It's ridiculous. Also while I am very picky about the type and extent of social programs that I support, I strongly believe we should do a whole lot more to help the homeless. No state, no country is doing enough. Here when it gets too cold the state will actually put them in places like motel 6 but that's only when it is cold, otherwise they are still homeless. Nobody should be without shelter in the 21st century in a first world country. N o b o d y.

Doesn't the other side deny and/or justify what their leaders say on videos or recordings?  There are a lot of legal questions regarding the action Seattle is taking, and I don't think we know who will prevail.  There were laws signed by President Clinton in 1996 (§ 434 of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 (PRWORA, P.L. 104-193) and § 642 of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 (IIRIRA, P.L. 104-208)) that essentially ban states from limiting local entities from maintaining immigration records or sharing it with the Feds, but this may not make so-called sanctuary cities illegal.  However, in this case, the AG is saying if you don't cooperate with us, we won't cooperate with you.  Since the money that is involved is minuscule based on other replies, why does Seattle need to sue.  Seems like a waste of Seattle money to me.

As to your first sentence, in a word, no. Donald Trump is hands down the King of Denial in regards to statements he has made on audio and video recordings. Nobody in the history of mankind has come close.

The City of Seattle is arguing that there are conflicting rules, regulations, laws and court rulings and who put the various things in place. The money is small, but the issue for Seattle is Trumps bullying tactics. Trump may have no principles but other people do. Sueing Trump seams to be a winning thing to do.

Yes, the Republican Party is all about helping the little guy, the homeless, the poor, the unemployed, the sick, etc.

And then there's Dems who act like they either own minorities or can't look past their white knight views that hurt the minorities they supposedly want to help. I'd vouch more for any candidate that's more into giving people freedom and dealing with the consequences of their actions rather than treat people like perpetual victims and excusing criminal behavior. It's always funny watching the left play like they're the heroes for the downtrodden when they're more like drug dealers pushing their drugs on addicts.
