But I don't think you WILL get action on your case just because you complain...I think the senator requests in general are a waste of time as they're not going to dig out your specific file just because you got someone not in their organization to nag over their shoulder

While it's not a guarantee of action, it very often will result in it. This is from an inteview with a adjudicator linked in the guides page:

Quote

Q   HUSKERKIEV - "Then again you could always file a Congressional" - Could you explain what that means? Inquiry?

Glad to help. Anyway, a "Congressional Inquiry" or "congressional" is a formal inquiry by a member of Congress made on behalf of their constituent. Any federal agency that receives a Congressional inquiry has 48 hours to respond to the member of Congress. Each Service Center has a special office to handle "Congressionals". That's their sole purpose in life is to keep the member of Congress informed upon request.

(i.e. Senator Numbnuts says "CIS - I understand from my constituent - Mr. Hotn'bothered that (according to him) you have been processing his application for his dear fiancé in a less than timely manner. Can you please look into this matter and let my office know when it will be approved.")

System usually says - "pull and work file immediately" 'Nuff said.

Things may have changed in the time, but getting a congressional inquiry on a case that is still NOA1 at the five-month mark... It's probably a safe bet they don't want to deal with it a second time.

A lot of this is going to depend on the senator's staff. Some people are getting the staff reading them the web page, others are not. In my case, the immigration specially did indeed bring up the USCIS page, and said "It's showing they're working on January 1, but it's also showing they last updated this in May, I think an inquiry is warranted." I think it comes down to the staff actually saying "where is case # WAC...." to USCIS.

couple of points

All dogs go to heaven and all K1s go to CSC

The texas address you sent your petition to is a lockbox processing facility.  They take your money, give it a fast review for signatures and at least 2 forms (probably just 1 form now that 325 is not needed) then send it to California.  Your case hasn't transferred. Rarely a case gets transferred, usually due to a past encounter with USCIS.

Update your timeline to reflect CSC for more accurate predictions (even though you mailed it to TX lockbox)

Honestly wish you a speedy noa2

Wait..but CSC is even farther along...So case has transferred or has not to CSC? and why no notification of transfer if it did go to CSC? this is all so confusing :(

Your NOA1 should show that it came from CSC in the lower left corner.

It is confusing....

If you included the request to be notified form, they will email you when they receive it.  Look in spam folder, or maybe they didn't send it.

You actually did not transfer.  It is a processing or 'entry' point for petitions.  Just happens to be in TX

On your timeline, it should have the date you mailed the petition as 'Sent'

They will mail you an I-797 notice (noa1) with 2 dates on it.  on top right corner is your Notice Date

Down a few lines left of center is your Receive Date

Enter all three of these dates on your timeline and VJ will give you the most accurate prediction of your approval.

Thank you!!!! :):)
I'm getting nervous - slowly. Yet it's more about when and how getting to the embassy. I'll start shaking the last half hour before it goes in.
Can't really believe it's happening already.
But what I've heard from other German filers, the questions seem to be roughly like yours.
Did you need ANY of your brought extra documents? :D

We'll stay in touch, will we?

Thank you! I seen others on here talk about reaching out to their senators and I was influenced a bit by their decisions. To me, it seemed like a good idea. I understand it's a long process and it's not supposed to be easy, but doing something to better my chances is better than doing nothing. That's not to say that if you don't contact a senator, you're doing nothing.... I just felt it was personally beneficial in the moment that I seen the opportunity. I think it sounds OK too, I just think we all get in that moment where we overthink stuff. Yesterday I was feeling pretty negative but I believe it happens to the best of us. :) Thanks for the support!!! I wish you the best of luck and I hope you get your NOA2 soon! It is definitely frustrating! Just think, we might have already been approved in transit... we would know if the system wasn't broken. Lol.

Lol yes I was one of those ppl pushing ppl here to write their senators and other ppl senators to get their attention and put fire under the butts of these slow adjudicators.  I think it gets your case noticed and that's all we want in the end.  I have bad days as well and I try to stay positive, but I agree with you.  It isn't complaining when your heart is in it...this is your life and you're fighting for it!! And thank you again!! Pray ours are in the mail soon and they just forgot to send out the notifications.
