As we said EARLIER that yes she was under DACA but she let that lapse. So she was out of status when she got picked up.

Acquaintance once suggested letting the DACA kids stay, if they submit their illegal parents for deportation.

It would be interesting to debate whether bringing one's minor child here illegally constitutes child endangerment.

The ways the laws are currently written it does not count as smuggling, but as the whole point is that children have been abused you would think there would be some legal consequences.

The legal point would be that the parents are endangering them by having brought them here illegally and having thus exposed them to potential deportation, uprooting, repatriation with countries whose language they might not speak, etc.

How often do we advise people on this site that if their fiancé/spouse etc overstays it's no big deal but to file as soon as possible?  I find it interesting that for a DACA overstay this isn't the case.
