Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, a member of the House Budget Committee, was more skeptical.

“There is no substance at this point,” she said Monday, adding that she is waiting to see the contents of Trump’s executive order, and what Congress does during the budget process."

It does not specify how much federal money the colleges should receive.

Let's see how the EO reads and if the $25 billion gets approved.

I commend him for both of these. The first of course will be highly dependent on the budget actually allocated, and that will also depend on the legislative branch but at least he is doing his part.

The second one, I'm surprised he got past Bannon. Considering the position that Brietbart editors (Or I guess former editors) have on women in STEM, I'm surprised that Bannon went along with it. It's a great first step, speaking as someone married to a woman in a STEM career. She was very involved in outreach in the UK to get more women involved (Oil and Gas, especially exploration, is a man's world right now).

There are a lot of other very important changes that will need to happen to encourage more women to pursue those fields, but it's a great first step. Now if we can also focus on closing the wage gap, and creatining an actual parental leave policiy that would be great.

He covered both and asked both sides to work on the family leave. Let's see if the dems will stop sulking and put America first

If one dares to get between Sheila Jackson Lee and a television camera, one's life is forfeit.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

So all the things he has done to eliminate racism, he is still a racist, just not self-aware?  Of course you bring up the 1970's story when as you stated in other posts, times were different, and the country was still transitioning to the Civil Rights Act.  I guess no one can change.  Does this mean you are still a homophobe as you stated?

'not really sure what you're position is here. what did sharpton say that was racist? 1994, most public figures held homophobic views, if you'd like to discuss hypocrites. i mean, i was homophobic in 1994.'

trump hasn't done anything to eliminate racism. not sure what you're referring to with that. when i brought up the story from the 70s i forgot to mention his dad. of course people can change, of course people who were racist in the 70s might no longer be racist but i fail to see what that has to do with trump. you can't change without accepting responsibility for what needs to be changed. i was raised, brainwashed in a homophobic environment, i was taught that gays are disgusting sinners that love to molest children and have no morals and are going to hell; for ten years minimum. so yeah, when i came out of that environment it took some time and life experience outside the bubble i was raised in to broaden my horizons. you could argue that trump was raised in a racist environment and people can change. but you also have to  recognize that trump exists in an extremely privileged environment - he's still in his bubble. in my opinion it's totally plausible that he harbors racist inclinations and doesn't realize it at all. if you've got trump actions (not words, considering how much he lies) to back up this 'elimination' of racism, let me know.

Just as it is totally plausible that he has changed.  It is interesting how only "progressives" can have a change of heart as they become more educated, but a conservative that may have uttered something years ago that was politically correct at the time is still considered a bigot.  Seems like a fairly bigoted opinion to me.  If you can show me something recent (within the last two years) that depicts Trump as a racist, or sexist feel free to share it.  There is plenty of information out there that speaks otherwise with what has already been posted.
