Quick question.  I'm waiting for my wife's biometrics appointment in the mail, but I filed a I-485 for her and my step-daughter who is 7 years old.  I assume I will be getting the appointment letter for my wife and not my step-daughter.  However, will my step-daughter be required to attend the appointment at the local USCIS office?  Just wondering to see if there's a need to pull her out of school for it and then she isn't needed at the appointment.  Maybe someone has some experience on it.

It's stuck at the processing center by my house and will get returned to me eventually, but who knows when. My case has been on hold since 4/5/17 so I decided to resend my response. 

 

Thank goodness i took pictures of everything inside and had a high-quality color scan of the original RFIE letter they sent. I put together all the same materials along with a printout of the original letter's scan, and the tracking information for the lost package. 

 

Just spent $24 to do express shipping so I can send it to the other address they list :(

Good question. We only received one letter, for the 14-year old, and not for the 11-year old. Now I'm wondering if the younger one needs to go at all...

They said the scanner couldn't process the address for some reason, they didn't elaborate. I showed the postal worker a picture of the envelope and compared it to the Missouri address the RFIE tells you to send to and everything matched up, she didn't have much more of an explanation.

 

I had no problem sending my AOS with priority 2-day mail to the Chicago lockbox, so this was odd.
