I was born in Iraq but my family migrated to Canada when I was young, I'm a Canadian citizen but I guess I'm also Iraqi by birth, I'm getting ready to send my application while living in the US at the moment (My wife is American and both of our children are also American born), I entered the US from Canada about a year ago legally and when I was here we decided to apply. While these new rules are clear in regards to people from those 7 countries being refused entry, what does this mean for people already in the country and are dual-citizens of another country along with one of the countries on the list? Can I still apply? Will I be deported? This is really heartbreaking...

Yes :( but I'm sure that before the end of next week, that part of the EO will be reformed. This Executive Order was clearly rushed and not well thought out at all.

At the risk of "speculating" on the "no speculation" thread: what if he did think it through, and the EO was exactly how he wanted it. We have to stop second guessing him and making excuses. Worried? We should be.

The only thing I will say in that regard is that Trump is not a career politician and has no experience in any political matters. The order has many flaws that most politicians probably wouldn't make. That being said, his cabinet should have intervened.

I am a naturalized U.S citizen of Pakistani origin.  I have lived in the U.S for over 20 years.  My wife is a Pakistani and Belgian citizen currently visiting my in-laws in Belgium with our almost 2 year old U.S born and citizen son.  She has a 10 year green card and has been away from the U.S since Nov and is returning next week.  After watching the news today I am worried they will not be let back into the country.  She travels on her Belgian passport and grew up there since she was an baby.  Is it safe to assume she won't encounter any troubles coming in?  Should she be prepared for extra vetting at the airport?  Should she first contact the U.S embassy in Brussels before traveling to get the waiver I have read about? It is hard to discern so far if only green card holders from the 7 affected nations have to get the waiver or do all U.S green card holders outside the U.S need to get the waiver after serving out the 90 day ban. I apologize if this has already been answered.
