We did all that. When we requested information as to why our case was gone over the time, the tier 2 supervisor said it pushed our case back 60 days. So we won't hear anything until august

yup, and with that I see a lot of people complain when they're well within normal processing wanting to call right away not realizing its just going to make it worse.

When I first started the process it was 5-6 months and now its 7-8 months.

Really one of the best things to do is not check so often or you'll drive yourself mad.

Mine at 295 and am waiting for them to change my status to RFE was received. I hope we don't have to wait any longer

This is horrible. And RFE pushes it back to like 30 or 60 days longer. I hope you get approve very soon. Nebraska just needs to speed things up a notch.

That is unacceptable, were stuck in Nebraska too, 256 days, was your case delayed due to Background checks?

What's so confusing is that other people cases in late November are getting approved and yours isn't yet!

Congressman told us our case is behind due to a delay in the background checks.  So frustrating, we have no red flags and i don't have a common name at all. Cases close to our PD started getting approved since April.

How do people know if they have red flag or not?  Red flag mean the ages or something like that?

Age disparity, criminal records, visa abuse, family members (close or distant) with ties to criminal or terrorist activity, plus others that don't come to my head right now.

No, this is not true. If you receive a RFE then your case is pushed back of course because you need to respond to the RFE and once they receive what they required of you then they proceed with your case.

Calling inquiring about the status does not push your processing time back

October 31, 2016 I-130 sent to Chicago Lockbox

November 4, 2016 Received text case sent to Nebraska

November 10, 2016 Received Hard copy of NOA1

No, as MaryLou said this is not true. One member was told by someone with USCIS I believe, since a service request and inquiry via the senator was made that caused an additional backlog on their case. However, I don't think that's true either. I made an inquiry via my senator also which I'm awaiting a response so when the poster put they were told that causes additional delay I called Uscis. I was told it does not add on additional time. However, the uscis reps say all kinds of stuff. Hard to tell what's true or not. But no calling to inquire doesn't cause delays.

I am the one who made that statement. Both USCIS and the senator said the same thing to my husband. Making calls, senator reviews an enquiry request cause a delay in your case. If u go on fb there is a gentleman by the nAmerican of Brian Cox who has a group K1/cr1/ir1. He also mentioned that once u do a case enquiry an get congress it does push your case back 60 days
