Former Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein has raised nearly $5 million to fund efforts to push for a recount in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. This has led to speculation over what Stein hopes to gain from a potential recount or if she is being used by billionaire investor George Soros or Bill and Hillary Clinton. ‘Stacy on the Right’ Show Host Stacy Washington weighed in on the potential factors driving the push for a recount.

“I saw something interesting this morning on ‘The Hill’ by writer Mary Chastain and she talked about the big deal with Donald Trump saying that he wouldn’t go forward with prosecution on Hillary emails, Hillary Clinton’s email scandal,” Washington told the FOX Business Network’s Charles Payne.

Washington suggests that Trump’s forgiveness of Hillary Clinton shifts her out of the spotlight she desires.

“I thought it was interesting, she [Mary Chastain] points out that the thing that the Clintons crave the most is power and to continue to have influence in Washington, D.C. And by forgiving her he would take away that spotlight.”

Washington explained that this has led to the speculation that Stein’s push for a recount is actually part of a plot by the Clintons to contest the election results without having their names associated with it.

“This connects to Jill Stein in that I’ve seen a lot of discussion online about people really suspecting what you just said, that this is really a ploy by the Clintons to get the recount done without having their name attached to it.”

If the vote counts were wrong, and they were close, then logically Trump 'stole' the election should there have been errors. I, for one am not calling for a recount, but I would love to see The Great Humble In Victory Uniter have to publicly deal with finding out the last few weeks were just a mistake.

I, for one am not calling for a recount, but I would love to see The Great Humble In Victory Uniter have to publicly deal with finding out the last few weeks were just a mistake.

I can't speak for Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, but I know Michigan has already completed at least one recount which changed the vote difference by about a 1,000 votes, but did not change the outcome. Let them recount using the money collected from the lefties/greenies. They would need to flip all three states to give the election to Hillary which seems unlikely. In Michigan Trump can challenge any recount attempts which I think would hold up given the recount(s) that have already occurred.

As to the Stein involvement, it doesn't really make a lot of sense that she is pushing this other than to potentially help Hillary while still allowing Hillary to seem to be taking the high road of not challenging an election.

I don't doubt that Jill Stein had some sort of conversation with the Clinton's about this. She can't be that deluded to think that recounting three states will help herself at all (Her being Jill Stein).

However she may also just honestly be naive enough to stick to her principles and regardless of a change in the outcome, she wants to root out "corruption" and "voter fraud".

Even if the recount doesn't change the ultimate outcome (and like people have said it's unlikely since they would need to recount 3 states and all 3 would need to flip), I think it would be significant for EVERYONE (both sides) if there is any evidence of "tampering" with the computerized machines. I know it is all "conspiracy theory" sounding to talk about tampering with the election from overseas, but if evidence is found (again even without changing the outcome), that is significant I think. Even Trump should want to investigate and root it out for future elections. We can't have other people manipulating ourselves. We are only allowed to be manipulated by other Americans!

Two things:

1. I'm sure by now you know that I have never said anything of the sort

2. There are lots of different types of "fraud" (dead voters still coming, someone using another living persons name, machine tampering etc...). I'm specifically addressing the concern that I've seen some reports on about machine tampering, possibly even from an international source. That is the fraud that I think both parties should be afraid of.

Generalization is generally not helpful, but to answer your question, yes by and large "voter fraud" is largely the concern of the demographic you so graphically described. As a rule, this concern is ginned up at election time and while Trump was just the most recent, it is a controversy fed by Republicans and the Right.

Nothing much has really changed.

An attorney for Hillary Clinton’s campaign says it will participate in the Wisconsin recount initiated by Green Party presidential nominee Jill Stein.

Marc Elias, the campaign’s general counsel, wrote in a post on Medium on Saturday that the Clinton team has been conducting an extensive review of election results, searching for any signs that the voting process had been tampered with.

He emphasized that analysts employed by the campaign have largely found no evidence to conclude that the election was sabotaged, but said that the campaign is committed to helping ensure a fair recount process.

“The campaign is grateful to all those who have expended time and effort to investigate various claims of abnormalities and irregularities,” Elias wrote.

“While that effort has not, in our view, resulted in evidence of manipulation of results, now that a recount is underway, we believe we have an obligation to the more than 64 million Americans who cast ballots for Hillary Clinton to participate in ongoing proceedings to ensure that an accurate vote count will be reported.”

Stein filed for a recount in Wisconsin on Friday afternoon, and has pledged to do the same in Pennsylvania and Michigan — states in which President-elect Donald Trump won or is leading by narrow margins.

Elias said the campaign would join in on recount process in those states if Stein follows through on her promise, though he noted that the margins in the three Midwestern states are larger than any that has been reversed by a recount.

“But regardless of the potential to change the outcome in any of the states, we feel it is important, on principle, to ensure our campaign is legally represented in any court proceedings and represented on the ground in order to monitor the recount process itself,” Elias wrote.

New York Magazine reported that a group of activists and computer scientists had implored the Clinton campaign in a conference call last week to call for recounts in the three states.

Elias wrote in his post that a number of similar calls had taken place, though most experts that were consulted by the campaign found no abnormalities in the election results.

The deadlines to file for recounts in Pennsylvania and Michigan are Monday and Wednesday, respectively.

Officials in the Obama administration threw cold water on the effort to recount votes in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania on Friday.

The effort was spearheaded by Green Party candidate Jill Stein, who echoed arguments that Russia may have hacked US voting machines to interfere with the outcome of the November 8 election.

A statement from the Obama administration cited by The New York Times acknowledged that the Kremlin likely expected the hacking of some Democratic Party entities in the run-up to Election Day to raise questions about the voting process and the legitimacy of President-elect Donald Trump's victory.

"Nevertheless, we stand behind our election results, which accurately reflect the will of the American people," the statement read.

Speculation that electronic voting machines could be hacked has largely been debunked, primarily because the machines are not connected to the internet.

Stein contended that this was a "hack-riddled election" that warrants a second look at the votes. Trump won by thin margins in the three states Stein aims to contest.

The Green Party sought to raise $7 million to fund the recount. Fundraising surpassed the $5 million mark on Friday. For her part, Stein only received one percent of the vote nationally.
