NVC Filers - October 2016

I called on 9/28 = our 6 weeks since our scan date. They submitted it for supervisor review and then said 6 more weeks. I feel as though they are swamped with cases.

New month.. new hope.. i was hoping for CC at the end of sep but no... my second scan date was 29 August 2016. but i believe in god.. and i pray from god for everyone who are pursing this process.. hope you guys have smooth journey this Oct.. and CC for myself..

How long did it take from your first scan date until your CC?

New month! Hoping to got CC this month! Scan date 08/02! 8 weeks and 3 days and nothing of 3 N/A!

Did you call in? After 6 weeks they should tell you they are notifying a supervisor.

After my first admission of papers. I only had one scan date so it took 27 days total for cc and then interview date in just week after that.

I have reviewed the NVC process and have a few questions

1. If we have already submitted forms like the Birth & Marriage Certificate do we still need to send copies to NVC?

2. I am reading alot about a priority and cut off date is that the same priority date from USCIS and how does that play a part with the Cut off date?

Yes, you need to send another copy of the marriage certificate to NVC even though USCIS already has one (and has sent it with your file to NVC). Send everything they ask for, even if you have already sent it to USCIS.

USCIS sent my immigrant visa petition to the NVC. Now what happens?

If your Priority Date meets the most recent Cut-off Date, or is likely to become current soon, the NVC will:

1. Invoice you for your visa application fees
2. Collect your visa application and supporting documentation
3. Hold your visa petition until an interview can be scheduled with a consular officer at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate.

If your Priority Date DOES NOT meet the most recent Cut-off Date, the NVC will notify you and hold your petition until your Priority Date meets the most recent Cut-off Date or is likely to become current soon. As your Priority Date gets closer to the Cut-off Date, NVC will contact you to start processing. The Department of State updates the Cut-off Dates on a monthly basis in the Visa Bulletin.

Ah, the cut-off dates are the visa bulletin dates for the visa categories with limited numbers (F2A, for example).

Doesn't apply to CR-1.

1. Copies required. Only the beneficiaries BC is required not the petitioners.

2. Priority dates only apply to Green card holders. If you are a citizen matters not.

3. Cut off date for what?
