Getting closer to the interview!?? Just want to make sure we're on track or do we need to add anything else? Husband received the box with additional evidence, everything neatly organized and labeled for easy access when (or if) asked for. Included are boarding passes, bank and ss name change info, record of joint bank acct, photos of us, photos of our families together when my family visited during the summer, cards we mailed or exchanged on our visits, whatsapp and phone records from Jan-Sept (only included those dates bc it was already over 600 pages). I also included a copy of my purchased ticket for the week of his interview and a copy of my new job offer with starting date (to show the change in plans). Don't know what else I could add that would hold much weight as people say photos and whatsapp doesn't. I didn't have any hotel/rental car receipts bc he has a car and I mostly stayed with him and we would visit his mom for a day/few days and stay with her. Is there anything else I might can add?

If you had cancer, can the CO denied you the residence?

No, unless the beneficiary is very sick still and might become a burden to the US.

For those asking about "extra" vaccines: find out if you can get lab tests in your country that prove you're already immune to the disease, either from previous vaccination or because you've had the disease in the past (not every disease confers future immunity, though). These are called "titers" or "titres". I recommend this especially for Hepatitis B, which requires a series of three different shots.

I don't know why someone else said there are no shots that need updating because people are moving to the US and not a third world country... we still have many required vaccines in the US. And our vaccine schedules are different. For instance, in the US we advise (or require, in some professions) people to get updates on measles/mumps/rubella and diphtheria/tetanus/pertussis, because those vaccines wear off or because the old version wasn't as good as the new version; in other countries this isn't required or people may not comply, so additional shots for those may be needed.

My wife had her interview today and she was approved!!

Her interview was scheduled for 7:30 AM. She arrived at the embassy at 6:45 AM. She was one of the first person to enter embassy for CR1 category at 7:00 AM. She went through security check up and was directed to go a window to get her token number. At this window she was asked:

Who is calling you?

What is your name?

Then she got her token number. After about 10 to 15 mins she was called to another window with an American CO. She was a very nice American lady.

Wife: Good Morning

CO: Good Morning

CO: Who is call you?

Wife: Answered

CO: How long do you know each other?

Wife: Since 2nd grade

CO: Did both your family agree for marriage?

Wife: Answered

That's it. She was approved! CO took her passport and said visa will be ready to picked up at local VAC office in 3 to 5 business days. She was outside the embassy by 8:00 AM. Thank You everyone for all the help. I am still here if someone need any help.

No only India and Mexico has scheduled biometrics. You do your at interview.

So you went and did extra shots? Like HEP A which is not required? There's no shots we need follow ups to. Remember you are moving to the US not a 3rd world country.

But thanks for the info N122K Wow.

who would pay the mandatory 122k and still ask for more shots?

I only received the mandatory vaccinations, Perhaps the increase in the cost of medicals is as a results of added vaccinations. I was issues a card for my follow up shots of which every other Nigerian pursuing an immigrant visa would have to go through and perhaps follow the same procedure.

However, you are asked to complete your vaccination at an added cost,

(though it is not mandatory(the follow up shots isn't mandatory you will be asked to return to a hospital after a month and then after 6month with the hospital card that was given to me/you, which is your vaccination record).

personally, I feel since they have given you a shot already as a requirement of US CDC for Immigrants, why not complete the dosage ?

In spite of all the follow up shots, applicants within the age of 17-43+ would ve to pay the mandatory fee (122k0and receive the mandatory shots, its up to you to complete the dosage afterward.

Hi! This is my first time posting something here but I've been following this forum since I started my husband's immigration process and even before for my naturalization process. This site is so helpful so thank you! I wish there was more people from Cuba or information about the embassy there. Our case was completed on August 29th but still don't have an interview scheduled. I called NVC last week and they're done scheduling for November at least for Cuba. Does anyone knows how long it takes to get an interview after case completed in Havana? Thank you so much. I'll appreciate any info.
