Hi Everyone,

i had my aos interview (from k1) last week in Denver. The IO was very nice and friendly . He said from the start that he couldn't approve me today as he had put in a request for the file i handed to the io at the POE when i arrived in Sept 2015.

At the end he said it was approved pending the file getting to him and a case review. Within an hour i got a text update saying interview was completed and the case must be reviewed. We expected that but then today we got an email saying the below.....

Does this mean i may have to go for another biometrics?????

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Your Case Status: Initial Review

Your interview for your Form I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS, Receipt Number MSC********, was completed, and your case must be reviewed. We will mail you a notice if we make a decision or take further action. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators. If you have filed an I-485, I-589, I-751, N-400, I-90, I-821, I-131 or I-765, you can expect to receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints and/or photographs taken. The timing of your appointment is determined by the number of applicants ahead of you that also need a biometric appointment. We try to schedule biometric appointments as quickly as possible and in most cases you will receive your appointment notice within 30 days of submitting your application. We will send your appointment notice approximately 14 days ahead of your scheduled appointment. It is important that you keep this appointment. If absolutely necessary, you can request that your appointment be rescheduled however, please be aware that rescheduling may delay the processing of your application. Please follow the instructions on your appointment notice if you need to reschedule. Occasionally, you may receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints taken when you have filed a form other than those listed above. In these situations, you may receive your appointment notice more than 30 days after submitting your application or petition.

  • Log-in to your myUSCIS account to view your case history and understand what you can expect to happen next on your case.
  • Current processing times can be found on the USCIS website at under Check Processing Times.

Anyone have an idea on this? All replies /advice appreciated,

Phil

Personally, I haven't seen this, but I wouldn't worry too much. Your IO basically said you were approved, so your status may change in a few days or so. Did you file a 765 and/or 131 with your package? They may require a biometrics visit if you did not.

Regardless, Good Luck!

You'll be fine don't rely too much on those online updates. They should be taken with a grain of salt as they're known to be unreliable in many situations. You'll be approved once he gets your file.

Hi again everyone ,

as previously said above i had my AOS interview on Thursday 4th August . It went well and the io said its basically approved pending the file handed to the io at POE being sent to him. My status has said since

Interview Was Completed And My Case Must Be Reviewed

My Question is does anyone have any idea how long this part takes. Does this mean a problem because it's taking sooooo long. Is there another background check being done????

Appreciate anyone answering who might offer insights

Timeline

My wife and I had our AOS interview at the Denver office on August 2nd, and the officer said we were apprroved pending receipt of 2 affidavits of sworn statements from people that have known both of before and after marriage affirming our marriage is bona fide. The officer told us that once he received these documents, he only had to hit one button on the computer, the green card would be printed in Ohio and mailed to us in 1-2 weeks. We were both very happy that the interview went well and excited to finally reach the green card milestone.

We submitted two affidavits that were delivered on August 4th. Almost a month later our case status still shows as "Interview Scheduled". We scheduled an infopass appointment that we attended today, but the lady could not (would not) provide any information. She just said to keep checking our mailbox. My wife's EAD expires in December, and the USCIS lady said did not know if the green card would arrive before Dec, so we should file for an extension for the EAD. We are very frustrated at this point. Anyone else run into delays due to "affidavits of sworn statements"?

Denver office is very shock. The waiting time for AOS is also very terrible. I saw lot of people here received their GC in about 2-5 months. But at Denver, we have to wait longer probably year. I don't know how long it take for me to get actual interview since my status changed to ready for an interview last month. Bwt, good luck everyone
