Hello! Iam applying for K-1 visa and I would like to know how many minutes (maximum) will it take to finish my interview at the embassy? My interview is scheduled at 6:45 am and I have booked my return flight at 2:00 pm the same day. I am not sure if I can make it. Please advice. Thank you

I personally think it depends on your case? Every interview is different. It can take up from 2 minutes to 10 to 20 etc etc, how long the CO wants it to be.

01/13/2016: I-129F filed  07/15/2016: K-1 visa in hand
10/13/2016: Filed AOS + EAD/AP.   07/07/2017: Permanent resident (Conditional)
04/16/2019: Filed ROC  11/17/2020: Approved. (10 yr GC)

I have no idea why did you booked your flight so early after the interview, anyway, DON'T think about that while you're at the Embassy having your interview.
Is enough stress anyway, I don't think it would help...Worst case you'll have to catch another flight ?

You should post this in the Philippines subforum as this is really a country-specific questions.

The K-1 interviews are almost always quite short, max 10 minutes, but in many countries there is lots of waiting around waiting for your case to be called to interview. For example, my fiance was at the embassy for about 3 hours, 95% of which was time spent waiting, and I've read lots of similar stories on here.

You should check reports on the Manila Embassy (go to the Embassy review tab) to see how long it takes people.

Length of interview depends on various things such as number of applicants, your personal case, etc. I suggest you move your flight to a later time such as 5pm since you do have to consider the traffic throughout the day in manila. I had my interview in 2013 and my schedule was also around 6:45 and I got done 1pm. I would consider my K1 case easy but I still had to stay there for a while because there was a lot of applicants. I really suggest you move your flight to a later time.

Yeah it was not wise for you to book your flight at 2:00pm at all. The traffic in Manila is HORRENDOUS to say the least and when I went with my asawa to her interview in 2012 we did not get done until almost 12:00pm. So it would be wise if you move your flight back to 4 or 5pm. Where are you flying back to if you don't mind me asking?

It says that your interview is at 6:45am, but that just means you need be there at that time to get into embassy in Manila. That means you will get there at that time and get in line to go inside, sit around a while, get called up once to talk to Filipino Consulate worker, and then get called up again later to talk to the American Consular Official. So it would be easier for you just to move your flight back po.

I've seen people say it takes as long as 3 hours in the embassy in Manila to complete the process. That puts you close to 10am to be complete, depending on traffic to the airport and getting through security you should be checked in and through by noon

Better to wait at NAIA than to be stressed at the USEM because you're thinking about an early flight. Book a late afternoon or evening flight.

No one can say with any certainty how long you will be there. Our interview lasted all but 5 minutes but we didn't get called to the window till around 12 noon. With traffic, getting through security and then running for the gate we would never of made a 2 pm flight. Best to rebook for an evening flight or leave the next day.
