My K1 visa interview is coming up at the end of August, and Im already thinking that upon arrival into the US and after marriage Im supposed to apply for AOS and same time EAD which could take up to 3 months before I have permission to work, but Im wondering does that apply for my 14 year old daughter too? Does she have to wait up to 3 months before I can enroll her into a school??? Im trying to prepare the best I can

No, you (your fiancé) should already look for options to enroll her in school. She could start almost immediately upon arrival. Best course of action (I believe) is if your fiancé contacts nearby schools to inquire about their procedures.

She will actually miss the beginning of the school year if your interview is not until the end of August. My nieces and nephews are back to school the third week in August.

The school year usually starts around end of August or early September. After your K-1 interview, the earliest you can be stateside would be about second week of September, around which the school year should have already started.

It would a bit difficult on the child she starts school while she still has jetlag, so to speak. But that would also mean she will need to wait an entire year before she can go to school. Timing is a bit inconvenient in your case, although I am sure your daughter would be ecstatic about the "no school for a year" proposition... until she gets bored at home after the third month

We got here 3 weeks ago and we are in the process of signing my boy (10 years old) into school right now

He starts 8th of August. It's different from place to place when they start

Not really a week or two after you shouldnt have any jet lag. Children are far more resilient to change and adaptable than adults. The sooner she starts school to get a routine, start learning and thus keeping her mind busy, meeting and making new friends, the better. Definitely do not wait a year or half a year.

Thanks everyone!!! I need help with one more thing! We will attend our interview together, do we need 1 copy for her, 1 for me on the Affidavit of Support? Or will the one be sufficient with my fiancés wet signature!!! I'm little unsure regarding this, as we will be arriving to the US together on our K1 K2 visa, any info would be appreciated

For what it's worth, my kids started school here in the US in February (so six months after the start of the school year). They had finished Australian Grade 2 and 4 schooling in December 2015 and went straight into 3rd and 5th grade respectively a week after we landed. We gave them a week to acclimatize and settle.

They were both able to complete the full year's curriculum by June 2016, with a bit of help from us and their teachers, and will be going into 4th and 6th grade in August 2016. Good luck!
