I am guessing these 10-year bans were for misrepresentation. They claimed they were not married but the Embassy determined that they were, hence the misrepresentation.

Sadly this happens often. They are too married for the K1 and not married enough for the CR1. They have to get married legally and go for the CR1 a K1 will be refused. Ok so the very little research

I didnt mix it up i know i only sent the link to show people dressing and doing engagement ceromonies were enough to be denied.

Catholic weddings are a marriage and they are to married for a k1 and this custom must be proceeded with a civil

Wedding so im not sure how they went around not doing the civil first.

They arent even breakable may be anulled by a priest under anullable circumstances only a priest can rule.

If CO is up to date with Mexican customs they will deny the K1 and OP would waste time being away from his wife his best bet is go get the civil certificate they signed and submit with a CR1.

Rather then wasting valuble time from his wife

Please start a thread when Your case is over, and let us know how it goes. There's so many conflicting stories here, I don't think anyone can say exactly what will happen.It could really benefit someone in the future having the same issue, with the Mexico embassy, to have some information to go by. Consulate Received : July 30,2014 Transfer to right embassy complete.

Interview Result : AP , requesting another PC (not expired) and certified divorce decree (was submitted)Stokes interview via phone for petitioner 4 hrs after interview.

Oct 23 email notification visa approved.
Visa Received : Nov. 3 , 2014 VISA IN HAND.

Marriage : Dec 27, 2014

Waiting to skip ROC and get 10 yr GC due to over 2 year while pending AOS
AOS APPROVED Oct. 4, 2017 * Green card in hand Oct 13, 2017 !!!!!

First K1 denied after 16 month of AP. Refiled. We are a couple since 2009. Not a sprint but a matter of endurance.

If you were denied you would need to get married get a marriage certificate and refile. You could do it immediately. There's n time limit pr span you have to wait.

The K3 is not really an option since it gains you nothing.

I know someone now who did the K1 after a "ceremony". K1 was denied they got married had interview he has a 10 year Ban. It does happen.

You can roll the dice and see how it goes when you have interview or you can get married file a I-130 and be sure to wrote letter to withdraw the I-129F.

Hey D....I'm confused...why would there be a 10 year ban if the couple got legally married (after K1 denial) and started the paperwork for CR1 (after legal marriage)?

It's been awhile since I was in the Visa Journey loop, so maybe something has changed?

So yesterday my case was approved on USCIS, I'll just have to wait for the process to run along until the day of the interview. Preparing everything and taking papers to proof a religious ceremony isn't valid in Mexico.

He didn't ask my fiancé anything, he didn't pay mind to the ceremony. He was only asked a couple of simple questions about us and that was it, very smooth and easy.
