Wow, thank you so much! This will be super useful.

Hi Inkasminka, thank you :)

I had to bring my passport with my visa and stamps of entry in it. They pulled up the I94 themselves but you could bring a print of that as well if you have one.

I also had to bring our marriage certificate, all the NOA's (NOA1), a proof of address which in my case was the deed to our apartment and my husband had to bring his passport as well. We actually had to go 4 times.

1: do computertest. I couldn't do the driver's test the same day. You might want to make an appointment but we decided on a walk-in early the next day.

2: walk in for drivers test. We had to go to another office as they were already full for the day.

3: Walked into the other office; had to wait for the driver's test but could take it.

4: They had not told us we had to bring my husband's passport and the marriage certificate (not a copy but the certified copy of the certificate) so we had to go home and come in again.

There is something else I wanted to share as I saw a question about it, but I can't find who asked it. Anyway, they wanted to give me the DL with the date of my expiring stay which would have been july 18... so that was not good, just a few weeks. I asked if she was sure about it as I have my NOA's and they mean I'm not even supposed to leave the country at this point as my AOS is pending. She then went to a supervisor to inquire and found out there is a rule about is, I could not follow what she was reading online but it must have something to do with the NOA or the status of people who have applied for AOS. She was then able to give me a year - so it says TEMPORARY in red letters on my DL but a year will hopefully be enough. As soon as my status changes I can go in and have it changed. Hopefully this is helpful to some of you or at least the person who was asking :)

Thank you so much, Soley. I was trying to figure out how will that work also since I'm doing driving courses and want to take the driving test next month, rather than in half a year. ?

We're about to go to the West Palm Beach Application support center to do a walk in for the biometrics.

Does anyone have experience with the West Palm Beach application support center?

And does anyone know if doing a walk in speeds up the process at all?

I called ahead, they said they do accept walk ins but they cannot guarantee they will have the time to see me.

On the website it says you should only come in when you have an appointment. Pretty confusing stuff.

It's over an hour away so it will take us half a day.

Basically they're only going to take you on a walk in basis IF they aren't busy enough, they WILL take you if you have an appointment though.

If the place is that far, I'd recommend just going at your appointed time since you may not be able to be seen if you just show up.

The website recommends to go when you have an appointment, probably because it's a blanket statement for all biometrics. They would rather you show up at your appointed time, than a walk in.

Thank you Ash.1101 !

I will take the risk and time if it would speed up the process. Do you have any idea or does anyone have any idea if it does?

My appointment is next week friday so that would be 10 business days of speeding up if that's the case.

Just did my walk in biometrics today. It took about an hour in NYC.

No issues, and judging from how nervous some people looked I don't think I was the only one doing a walk-in.

So 6/27/2016 Biometrics taken

Hi all,

We received our biometrics letter on Friday to our house. However, we are currently travelling across country on a mini honeymoon until we can have one abroad next year. We won't be back before our appointment (which we knew) as we shall be on the West Coast (CA) when our appointment is on the East Coast (NH)

Our mother-in-law took a photograph of the biometrics appointment letter and emailed it to us, and I printed it off in our hotel this morning. We walked into a biometrics centre today in IL (which is where we were staying on this leg of the trip) and everything was completed in an hour. The computer systems were down so it took a little longer to process everybody.

We took a copy of our itinerary with us to the biometrics centre to highlight how we were on our mini honeymoon and it was fine.

I have no idea what, if anything, I need to do with contacting the ASC for my original appointment. Do I need to do anything at all or can I just let it lapse as I have now completed my biometrics elsewhere.

Simon

Hi Simon, that's great you were able to do it elsewhere and continue your honeymoon ?

I think once they scan the letter it should be in the system that you've already done it so your original appointment should be automatically cancelled I presume. But maybe call to your NH center to be sure. It's a good question though. Maybe someone else who has done the same knows.

Have a beautiful continued honeymoon.

So we decided to do the walk-in for the biometrics.

There were a lot of people waiting already. We were told that today they will not be able to accept walk-ins.

I did call ahead but the ones on the phone don't know if it's a good day or not. Oh well, we tried and now know where the ASC is ;)

Thought I'd share it as I've only seen success stories of walk-ins so far :P
