Hi all, new to the form , I submitted my I-751 form back in June 2016, it was received in Vermont on June 13, 2016 (I got my extension for a year. When I went to get my bio-metrics here in Portland (I'm lucky the office is minutes from my home here in Maine), the lady told me it would take year. However judging by the backlog in Vermont, I don't see mine being processed before the end of August 2017. Anyone have any idea on the timeline with Vermont, the website says they are still working on 2015?! Should I expect to get another extension in August?

Hi! 

Basically, you'll have to make an appointment to go back to the USCIS office and they give you a stamp in your passport that gives you another year's extension. Some people have described having trouble getting an appointment, so I'd start looking for one a month or so before your extension letter expires.

Of course, if you talk to people at USCIS, they'll quote that data as if it's current... especially if you're anywhere around that date. So you say, "But the data on the website says it was current as of the end of November and it's now late January... what date are they working on now?" And they say "The data I have says they're processing May 14th." ... And the world goes round *sigh*

You can file 90 days prior to the 3 year anniversary of the date on your Green Card.  So, if your permanent resident date is day, July 1, 2015 you could file 90 days prior to July 1, 2018.

after 3 years holding your 2 year permanet resident card. 

You can apply for naturalization after your 3rd wedding anniversary giving that you're still married with the US citizen

I filed in June 2016 received NOA1 June 16th. Biometrics done 7/1/16.

Not totally correct.  You can file for citizenship in your 3rd year of being an LPR as long as u r still married to the same US Citizen.

Hello everyone.

 

I've been sneaking into this forum for a very long time. But i didn't post anything yet.  

 

I was filed my petition and was told by CSC that they recieved my papers on June 14th 2016. So, of course. i'm still wating for the decision like everyone else.  

 

It's might be some chaos going on with the DHS during the New President's transition, That might cause the process timing?  And even take it longer and longer ? 

 

It's been a 7 months that I'm tried not to think about the fact that my status is pending.  But right now i'm kinda frustrated. When is going to be done? 

 

I was called the representative few days ago. All she can tell is exactly the same thing that we've seen on the website. 

 

This is way more than 6 months as we are expected (For a petitioner who files their case to CSC)

 

Anyway. I will be laugh out VERY LOUD if i got approve by tomorrow.  

 

 

 

I hope all is well for everybody. At least i knew i'm not alone on this battle!
