Does her mother have legal guardianship of her? If the mother is legally responsible per the courts for the welfare of your girlfriend then the mother has the right to make the decision to not allow her to obtain a passport or travel outside of the country. I ask this because you say her mother takes her money, well if she has legal guardianship it is her responsibility to take the money and use it for the benefit of your girlfriend.

Who has legal custody of the child?

You need to find out the answers to these questions first.

Send her the money for the passport and buy her a ticket.

Hi Boiler.i thought about that.i dont have that kind of money for now

I do not see any other options, so do so when you have saved enough.

The story is kind of hard to swallow...also, if he can't afford the tickets to bring them, then how can he afford to support them in Tunisia. Every time someone mention "Green Card" specially if no intention in living in the US makes me wonder. Her mom must have been watching the TV show "30 day fiance"

I am not really sure where this should go, off topics?, but not a K1 issue as he is not looking to move to the US, she is looking to move.

If she has a brain injury that impairs her social skills I would expect family members to worry about her moving to another country with a different culture with her child, especially if as a previous poster has mentioned attitudes to those with disabilities is not as good in general there.

If she is being abused by her family she should call the police, does she have any friends who can help her and her child to a safe house?

Also I'm not sure if it works this way in the us but in the uk if you are designated as someone's carer the government can give you money for caring for someone so even though the person gets money because of the disabled person it really is the government giving it to the carer not to the disabled person.

Thanks Boiler, I am sure there are many excellent MOD'S here who are helping and correcting at the same time... I am just newbie and learning during the process. I make mistakes and I try to correct myself if am unknowingly passing on wrong information. I am now being careful about posting anything unless am 100% sure of the information,

How about, instead of fighting the mother, help her, make her your ally? This will take time, but if you truly want the best for your girlfriend you will take the time, both to learn about her condition so you can support her better when you are together, and befriend both her child and her mother. Once the mother realises you genuinely love her daughter, and do not just want to have fun with her or marry her for a greencard or for money, she may support you being together.

I would suggest doing things such as inviting her to video chat with you, as well as reading books and going to see local hospitals and specialist in the type of brain injuries she has, so you can impress mom with your knowledge, and information of what is available in your country to treat her daughter.

Not much you can do here if her mother opposes and also if shes mentally ill she may not be able to make decisions on her person hense her mom takes care of her daugther. There are people that file that dont meet would that may apply to you im not sure of how that works but certain cultures you are not allowed to physically meet. Its haram in your country for you two to meet i belive isnt it?? Maybe she could apply this way not certain maybe she can seek legal help there are legal services for people in my state who have low or fixed income...

Best of luck??
