I'm a little fuzzy on the process, but I was told that, in order to board a place, an Egyptian citizen would have to show a government official that he has a visa to the destination country.

Anyone boarding a plane to the US (and most other countries) has to show the airline they will be allowed to enter the country of destination (visa, ESTA, passport, etc).

There are hefty fines to the airline if they board people who get turned around because they don't have documentation.

Dear Key

Yes the K1 visa will have the Petitioner's name.

If your name is John Smith, your name will be printed as

Petitioner: John Smith.

We have the same problem in India about gay relationships and marriages. So I asked the CO what best they could do, since being gay is criminalized there. They said they could just print the first initial and the last name.

So your name will be printed as

Petitioner: J. Smith

They did this for me and at the immigration counter at the Indian airport, I just had to say my Fiance's name was Jane and not John. Make sure your fiance can say it with a straight face and have other answers ready if he is questioned at the counter.

Good Luck guys

Yes, he has performed military service.

Okay he served, and until he is I believe 40 or 45 years old, he can be called back to service, so he has to have permission from the military to leave

Egypt. You need to speak to him about this way before he boards plane to USA.

I encourage NOT to lie to any immigration officer in Egypt or USA. As I said before, if they don't ask, DONT TELL. I understand your fears on the Egypt side of this. But in USA be honest.

Do not lie to immigration of the sex of your fiancé' cause they will find out SHE is a He if you lie, and then you could be refused entry into USA.

Oh, absolutely! We are completely truthful and accurate in all the information we've furnished. The only thing he might lie about (when leaving) is the "Jane" thing!

Why would he have to lie at the American immigration??? He would have to lie at the Ehyptian end if asked. The American immigration people have absolutely no problem.

Not sure what you mean by "get stamped off clearing him of leaving the country by the Egyptian Military." Is that something over and above the examination of his passport by Egyptian Immigration as he leaves?
