hi to all! i'm currently working abroad and will be going to my home country (vacation only) for my medical and interview. is it OK if take my medical one week before my interview date?

Oh I've never heard about it. I will try to search online but will that be another checklist? Do you know how anyone else have resolved such checklists? I have a lawyer on the case. May be he can help? Thank you for taking time to reply to me.

I just did some searching - and...sorry - it is not Urdu - it is Hindi. Apparently in some Indian states, the birth certificate is issued in Hindi, and then must be translated. I do not know which states. But obviously, someone is assuming that ALL Indian states issue birth certificates in Hindi, and is penalizing you.

Either you or your attorney needs to find something that states that your birth state issues birth certificates in English - or, find a list of Indian states that issue birth certificates in Hindi so you can prove that YOUR state does not.

I'm sorry - they are expecting you to submit a birth certificate in its "original" language (which they assume is NOT English), and then an English translation. The burden of proof is thrown on your shoulders, unfortunately.

I know when this happened before to someone they submitted a response to NVC stating that their state issued birth certificates in English, but I think they had some sort of website or other proof to back it up. I'm sorry I don't know any more.

Hello one more time ,I just got my interview letter (p4) on the e-mail ...and I was reading through it I was looking to the document status code definition...and as I far as I can understand only the documents with an J must be presented to the interview and I got only 4 documents with this (J) is that correct?

also I wanted to know about the documents with an F where it says that the NVC did not required these documents do I have to get these to the interview or not ?

Remember many other visa categories get this checklist. If NV didn't ask for it it means its not needed at embassy. Just present the originals of the copies you submitted.

Yes you can do your medical a week before they interview but the US embassy might not get the medical results in time for your interview. If they don't have your medical results you'll be issued with a 221(g), which basically says you've been refused a visa until they have received your medical results.

Not sure if it's the same for all the embassies but I got an email from the US embassy in Sweden about five days before my interview, stating what I needed to bring to the interview. And yes, you should start preparing for the medical and the interview now.

Hi. Dwheels76, I don't know if this is the right thread for me now. Our case was approved for expedite and now says "in transit". So the NVC thread doesn't seem like the right place for us for now. But we don't have an interview date yet, but are expecting it soon.

So, is this where I should post questions and join in discussion at this point?

Yes this is the right thread. I have put your Case Complete as 12/31 since that's the date of your approved expedite. Just keep me posted when you get interview. Welcome to the group.

The P4 Checklist will tell you. I know since I did Electronic Processing, I have to bring the originals to the interview.

Hubby picked up his visa packet yesterday, so we are now finalizing preparations for him to come here, just a few more weeks and it will all be over.

For embassy in Moscow I`m prepareing original of AOS i-864 with ink signatures, husband did 2 copies and sent one to NVC and the other one was sent to me.

And this is a quote from list on Moscow embassy site what to bring on interview:

From the U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident petitioner:

12. Affidavit of Support: Form I-864, ORIGINAL ONLY. If the petitioner is using income from a household member to qualify, the household member MUST complete Form I-864A, ORIGINAL ONLY.

13. Copy of original, signed tax returns for the last year (both W-2 and 1040). If tax return copies are unavailable, provide transcripts from the IRS.

You can look at requirements om your country`s embasst, I suppose.

All you mentioned to show domicile you don;t have to fly anywhere she can do ir all from there. And you can get it done quickly and be done in a few days.

Here is the re-establish domicile from the NVC Process wiki.

Look at it and decide what s quickest and get t done.

You can easily get a written agreement with a friend or family member that you will live with them. So many things.

Does she have a bank account, Voters registration card, just show these things. A plane ticket doesn't mean anything that's not establishing a domicile.

• Lease agreement for our house

• Email from schools regarding registration requirements

• Email from my former auto insurance company regarding my inquiry

• Email from XXXX with estimate and correspondence regarding shipping our belongings

I declare that I intend in good faith to re-establish my domicile in the United States no later than the date of spouse's admission into the US.

I certify under penalty of perjury under the laws of the United States that the statements in this letter and all accompanying evidence are true and correct.

I'm gonna go through this thoroughly one more time, and check out the wiki one more time as well to make sure I don't miss anything. Even the lady that interviewed me told me that it isn't necessary for my wife to move there ahead of time, but that some people find it to be easier; we just need to show evidence that we're "taking concrete steps" to establishing ourselves in the U.S.
