we should have gone to a single payer system. i know that we had to purchase additional software for the employer aca reporting, it's really excessive and time consuming. imo health insurance should have nothing to do with your employer.

I just had open enrolment. Our plan ratea went up another 25%. Our company picked up 10%.

Health care costs have skyrocketed recently. Wonder what's up with that

We had a similar increase, but I'm self employed so gotta suck it up. Had to dump the PPO last year after the ACA. From what I've read, under the ACA insurers are having to treat all the pre-existing conditions and not enough young healthy people have signed up so we can probably continue to see increases like this in the future until someone comes up with a better plan.

Like most types of insurance, health insurance companies are about profit.

The ACA was intended to get rid of health insurance, but through lobbying and fast talk, they pulled one of the biggest bait and switches we have ever seen. The minute they decided to keep for profit insurance companies as part of the system, they should have taken the "affordable" part out of the title.

The mean age of the American population is still increasing, and chronic health conditions such as obesity are still relatively high. Cost's are not going to go down without a more well thought out overhaul to the system than what we previously got.

My employer pays 100% of my premiums, and I usually only pay $10 per prescription. Am I happy? No not really. Health care premiums may not.directly out of my salary, but that doesn't mean I'm not paying. I'd rather pay more in taxes, rather than continue to be being raped by the health industry.

Your premiums were going down in the years before the ACA was passed?

In over 30+ years of paying for my own health insurance I don't ever recall the premiums going down once.

I'm not sure why so many people are up in arms about this healthcare plan, we've had it here in Mass much longer than anyone else and it's really not that bad. I've got a Blue Cross PPO (single plan) through my employer with a $2K deductible, my employer picks up 50% and I pay the other 50% which is about $45 per week. That's $2340 a year for health ins and my wife has a very similar plan through her employer. Personally I don't think that's unreasonable. Would I much prefer a single payer plan? Yes, but I don't see this plan as the big problem some people make it out to be.

I knew it was the Republicans fault was coming

just saying, obamacare was mitt's hijacked baby. i don't see it as fault, we're all at fault for not have the cajones to go full monty with single payer. that's the route we need to go if we want to ever stop lining the pockets of insurance ceos and non-profit (LOL) health systems..
