Thank you for your encouragement! I called them last night and my case was completed October 28th. They are just working with the embassy now for an interview date! My heart is filled with joy and happiness! I left my mother when I was 15, seven years ago, can't wait to see her and have her with me again. :)

Congratulations on the Case Complete. I have added you to the spreadsheet. Is your case an expedite?

Come on over to the interview thread now.

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to let you guys know that today I had my medical exam done even though I don't have yet a CC. Everything went fine and I now have the results in hand, which are good for 6 months :) So yes, it is possible to have your medical exam donw before you get your Case Completed.

This week, or early next week we should have our answer, so fingers crossed that this time is a CC.

WOW that's awful early. You realize the clock starts t enter the US now that 6 months is your expiry date for entering US.

And No not everyone can get medical early. Some just need your NOA2 but most want interview letter.

Visitor Visa do;t ave background checks. You are immigrating so much more scrutiny to go through to be allowed to move to US and live. They are just visiting. Not even a medical is required.

Yes I understand how the preliminaries to the interview at different what I'm asking is if it's easy/quick to book an interview for costing isn't it an indication that an embassy isn't that busy and therefore it may be easy/quick to book an interview from cc as well.

What are your thoughts on that?

I've been thinking about doing this. I'm not expecting my cc until mid month but I think you're right it does add a bit of pressure even though it feels good to get your ducks in a row. I did the same with my police clearance got it super early then had to get another one - luckily have a friend in the police force so it was easy and free.

Another 40 days! Oooh my GOD, the rep told my hubby it means it's an emergency that should be attended to immediately and that we should get an email at the end of the day.

My husband was able to speak with a supervisor a day before and she said she was going to put a note on the case since she wasn't in charge.

Hi dwheels,

Yupp, I know that. To be honest I'm not concerned at all. I know we'll get a CC this week/early next week and maybe an interview in January (if lucky maybe even December). And I can leave in 1 week after having my visa in hand. So even if it's February when I decide to leave, I still have plenty of time before my medical exam expires :)

It's all good :D

I've read of other people doing the medical before getting the interview letter. What did you bring in to the medical instead of the interview letter?

Hey! I had my passport with me and 5 passport pictures and money lol :) That was it. But I know things might be different for other countries. I did call before making the appointment and asked them what do I need to bring and such. Fortunately, for Romania, they don't need your interview letter as long as you know your visa type and case number.

Don't worry, 42 days is the maximum you should wait. We got a false checklist about my DS -260 last October 6, our case was put into supervisor's review on October 10, and after 19 days, we got a case complete on October 29! So just hang in there. Keep calling NVC , and talk only to a supervisor!! Good luck!!

dwheels76 you would think I would know what you mean by my case being expedited since I have done this whole process on my own....but could you please elaborate?

Thank you for adding me to the spreadsheet I will go in there and add as much detail as I can. I'm amazed by the fact not a lot of petitioners for Cuba are adding their info to the spreadsheet.

Thanks again!

Our scan date is November 2. Good luck everyone.

Should I be calling NVC while we wait for a CC? I was thinking of calling to stay on top of the case, make sure it's not lost in the abyss of NVC but not sure how helpful that is. Any input? Thank you

How do you know when your scan date is? I have sent my documents (AOS & IV) to NVC and they were received on Oct 28. I received two IV invoices one on Nov 2 and one on Nov 3. I used the Nov 2 invoice, but the second invoice is still showing as need to be paid and the first invoice says in process. Should this be a concern? Hopefully I can complete the DS-260 tomorrow.
