My husband and I, we filed the I-130 under my married name. However, due to some delay I haven't been able to change my name on my passport.

On the form DS 261, they indicated that your Surname should be as listed on your passport or travel documentation.

Should I still enter my maiden name? Or should I put my married name as indicated on I-130? Please help

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to let you guys know that today I had my medical exam done even though I don't have yet a CC. Everything went fine and I now have the results in hand, which are good for 6 months :) So yes, it is possible to have your medical exam donw before you get your Case Completed.

This week, or early next week we should have our answer, so fingers crossed that this time is a CC.

NOA 2 received from the California service center on the 7th of October and Just today NVC has received the documents. A bit upset that it took 3 full weeks for the documents to be transferred, but at the same time i'm excited to finally move on from USCIS.

That is the California service center for you. They process the I-130 very fast but they are very slow with sending it off to the NVC. You basically lose 2 weeks which is very significant.

Since you are working with a Lawyer, things may be different, however most of us have used this Wiki created to expalin the NVC process and document requirements.

I've read of other people doing the medical before getting the interview letter. What did you bring in to the medical instead of the interview letter?

Hi everyone,

Please, I need your help, if possible. Does anyone here have some sort of example of how a letter addressed to the CO/embassy should be written? We got a random checklist for my husband's W-2s for 2014. He doesn't have those because he didn't work in the US for the past 3 years.

When we called NVC and asked about what should we do in this case, the rep told us that hubby should write a letter explaining why he doesn't have the W-2s and mail the original letter to me, so I can have it in hand at the interview (whenever that's going to happen).

Anyone that can help me with this? Thank you!

Not working in US matters not you are still required to file as a citizen. But if you are going to write the letter its a simple short and sweet letter stating the fact you worked out of the US from XXXX to XXXX.

But you need to check the requirements of filing out of country.

Hey guys, scan date 16 October. Counting the days. Hope we all get ccs soon.

Also wondering why it takes so long from cc to interview in most countries...when it comes to scheduling an interview for a visit you can usually get an interview for the following week...does anyone know if this is an indication of a fast interview or if the immigration interviews are dealt with differently.

Thanks for your input.

Visitor Visa do;t ave background checks. You are immigrating so much more scrutiny to go through to be allowed to move to US and live. They are just visiting. Not even a medical is required.

Dwheels, I would like to thank you so much for your support on VJ. My husband had his interview on Oct 6th 2015 in Kingston Jamaica and was placed on administrative processing....today I decided to check the status and it said ISSUED. I am so excited that this visa journey is over. Is it safe to say I can purchase his ticket?

OMG that is awesome. And thank you so much for the compliment. Now I know for Kingston you guys have a special unique way to get your Visa.

You are all registered at DHL correct And personally I wouldn't buy a ticket until Hubby says I have Visa i hand.
