Quite possibly they want to put you on AP while they do field investigations concerning the child and mother of the child. His not answering many questions about her could make them think he's hiding something. I feel with these West African Embassy's the beneficiary is guilty before proven innocent. For sake of argument if they suspected he had contact with her (which well she's the mom) it can raise a red flag because they could still be married and you are being used as the green card wife he gets to US and 3 years later he gets citizenship and applies for her.

Sound far-fetch nope its not and happens. If he was raising the child and he isn't bringing his child when you say the child is abandoned why would he leave the child behind. That also is a red flag. Him living the child behind might look to immigration like he is in contact with the mom and they will remain in contact.

Think like a CO not like you. How does it look to you a man meeting a woman and leaving his child behind that has no mom in sight. I only ask for you to see the bigger picture.

Thank you so much for writing this. Yes, now I understand. But the woman really did abandon the child. When I met my husband, he was caring for her, but only as much as he could. I won't get into the conditions,but they weren't good. Any insights you can give me, I really appreciate. Thank you.

If the child is immigrating too then he needs a release statement from the mother saying she is agreeing to the child immigrating to the US.

You can have the senator's aide inquire if this is what is needed and perhaps get a chance to submit it before they return your case. If the case

gets returned you will have a chance to submit whatever USCIS is requesting through the NOID/NOIR letter you would receive.

Even though he hasn't seen the mother in 7 years, an attempt to find her has to be made for a release statement from her.

I think this is the hold up.

You said you have a lawyer, what are they doing as far as finding out getting the transcript (yes it's possible) of the actual interview. You paid for a lawyer make them work.

I'm very sorry to hear this and know that your heart must be aching. I'm not an expert but based on what you have written here, I agree with DWheels. They probably think that he has had contact with the mother somehow and hiding it from you/them. Though we all know that things happen, the average person finds hard to fathom a mother abandoning a child with zero contact.

Consider filing a FOIA request with the DoS to obtain the interviewing officer's notes. This would allow you to find out the precise reasons for the denial, probably before any NOIR was issued.

Thank you for this information. If I do get the notes, and see what the issue is, how can I then submit what they need before an NOIR is issued?

They are thinking what some others have stated that he is maybe using you for green card, I had my interview with Alma Gurski and she tried to convince methat because of my husband age and because he's Muslim that he is probably already married with kids?, so if he isn't bringing his daughter where is she suppose to be going when he leaves?

I am sorry this happened to you but I have some questions.

What will become of the child if he immigrates to the US since you did no petition for the child?

Also, can you clarify the age difference?

Do not give up hope, fight to have the file stay in Ghana and work on getting another interview.
