That's what I thought. What is my embassy talking about then? :(

My helpful husband.

So the embassy said that they have nothing to do with scheduling interviews. They don't even send the NVC available empty slots. The NVC does it all on their own somehow, the embassy is just on hold an waiting until they receive the paperwork.

He said it's entirely up to the NVC how quick we will get an interview scheduled. He also mentioned the waiting period for the interview is generally about a year since sending in the original I-130 petition. They received ours in February, so according to him we won't get an interview until next year.

This was very confusing. Should we try to get a different rep?

We are trying to determine if he should plan a trip home for Christmas to visit or if we should save the money since he may be moving here around that time instead.

I am the petitioner, he still lives overseas

Hi,

My husband and I are in an impasse about money transfer receipts. I wanted to include in our pack of evidence for my interview, receipts of money he transferred to me and receipts of money I transferred to him also but my husband believes the ones from me to him should not be included because it won't help our case. Any opinions?

You being financially stable is good but why not just go by what he's saying? Anything that seems like the Petitioner is financially needy is not good, assuming you guys are already depending on a co-sponsor. If that's not the case and he's making more than enough, then it's ok. I will personally not recommend doing that. Don't complicate matters. Just go with the transfers from his side. *my honest opinion.

Also note*** Ghana is considered a high fraud nation and you don't want any appearance of suspicious transactions from the beneficiary which may be misconstrued.

Good luck and take lots and lots of evidence with you. Don't forget to write a review for us. ????????

Omg, Is this real? this is really frustrating. Unfortunately, NVC also received our I-130 petition on February  . I was also planning to celebrate my husband's birthdayon October and celebrate our anniversary on December. I hope this is not true, maybe the rep didn't know what was he/she talking about. Omg.. we all should have faith and pray for the best..

I really feel like this person was blowing smoke. This was a rep at our embassy. We are going to call the NVC and see if they can help. And I think we might try to get a different rep next week at our embassy.

Ok for everyone currently upset by the whole year comment

1- do not put hardly any stock in what the NVC says, I called several times and was told September scheduling was finished and I would have to wait, lo and behold my interview is in september

2- as you can see my petition was sent in January, clearly my interview will be less than a year after my petition was sent, this is a semi standard timeline that it can take about a year, the NVC is reviewing paperwork much faster than it has, additionally some consulates schedule interviews relatively quick whereas others take forever

I know it is the worst thing to hear but basically all you can do is monitor when other people are scheduled especially from your embassy to get an idea of what is coming your way

NVC and the Embassy will just point the finger at each other

Spoiler

That's why we are calling though. There's really no other people who our country to follow. So we have no idea what we should expect.

Just trying to get an idea if it's anything like Egypt and India or if we can expect an interview in the next couple of months.

It was the embassy we talked to, didn't even talk to the NVC yet. But the rep was a bit of a jerk and said the embassy doesn't even send the NVC appointments to fill. As if the NVC magically fills slots by reading minds........

Hello , Im new on here , My cc date is 8-6-15 for IR1/CR1 visa, it for Algeria. wondering if any one knows how long a wait it is for interview date for my type of visa out of Algeria. Also NVC says that i have to just wait til they notify me with the date , i read some are checking dates for thier embassy online , wonder if there is a way to check Algeria embassy dates / availability ???? like i said im new on here so bear with my questions.

thanks

Considering that Yemen Cases are being transferred to Algeria. So don;t know what the workload is like. And yes you have to wait.

As far as seeing the availability. There aren't many besides India that has that. You would have to go to your embassy website and Chechen it out. I doubt if you have it but worth a look see.

rudynai, yes I agree with that advise, The petitioner's money transfer receipts is much better than yours. That is what I'm doing now as a Petitioner living in US...Good luck to you, and we are also waiting for our turn at the Embassy.
